Wow,wow! Never been here before but ventured in with friends after we had a disasterous evening at beach blanket babylon. Its like night and day. Pleasant welcoming staff who knew what they were doing. The cocktails are amazing and so was the truly tasty japanese tapas and most of us were still hungry after the inedible food at BBB. The ambience was so warm and inviting unlike beach. Apparently Loungelover was here way before BBB and the open to cash in on the popularity of Loungelover. How disgusting is that.Anyway Loungelover has nothing to worry about as the locals and their new fans will support them.

If I could give this ridiculous place a negative number rating, I would. I spent 300 pounds to book this place for myself and about 20 of my friends for my birthday. I had booked a table with bottle service all night from 10:30pm until close.

Some of my friends had turned up at the bar around 11pm and were turned away, having been told that I no longer had a table and that my reservation had been cancelled. I was running late from dinner with my closer group of friends and showed up at 11:45pm and was told that I couldn't come in.

I have been to Loungelover a few times now and I have to say that while the decor is great, the service staff tends to be some of the most aggressive and rude that I have come across. The drinks menu is extensively varied (though pricey) and if you have the good sense to book seats at Loungelover you can enjoy the experience once you get past the incredibly rude hostesses.

While I would recommend checking it out, I have to say that you could probably find a more enjoyable experience in another venue in the East End.

I arrived at Loungelover at 6.30pm for a friends 30th. Great decor and atmosphere, with superb cocktails, but overall it was pricey. Stayed here with a large group all night and spent a fortune. However when the lights go up the staff descend in a throng and demand your glasses even if they are full! 5 members of staff and even a manager stood over us until we were done. They were so rude that none of our party will return to Loungelover. Shame really, as manners cost nothing, but losing out on business does.

Oh My God. Loungelover is a great venue with great decor - but the staff! These places need to realise that they just can't treat people like they do. As a resident of central London and frequent visitor to all the top restaurants, never have I come across a more rude phone manner than displayed by a certain person who answers the phone at Loungelover.

I was going to book a table for 10 for some friends in from LA, but they can go jump! A real shame.

Cannot imagine a nicer place to spend an evening than Loungelover. Everything was pure joy, right from the amazing staff and great bar food to the great cocktails. Thank you for making London such a fantastic city Loungelover.

Loungelover is possibly the most over-hyped venue in London with rude staff and pretentiousness rules here. The venue itself is stunning, I'll give it that, but the drinks are so average and the atmosphere so stuffy that I wouldn't walk across the street to go to Loungelover.

I live in Notting Hill and had been very reluctant to go all the way to Shoreditch, as the last time I ventured there I had a dreadful time in the bars in the area. Most of the bars then were kind of grungy and felt like a Students Union bar.

However, my friends promised me that I would not be disappointed with Loungelover and they were so right. From the minute we entered we were transported into another world, one that leaves your troubles behind and gives you a new prespective in life. There is so much glamour, wittiness and fun and it carries through to the staff from the front door to the wait staff. Well done Loungelover.

Loungelover is a great looking bar and the cocktails are interesting and well prepared. The atmosphere is totally different on weeknights when it is quite City based - at the weekends there is a much funkier crowd.

However, my main concern with the place is that the service charge is added to the bill, then when the card machine is presented to you, the tip option is left available to you - totally unacceptable as the waiters do not point out that you are potentially double tipping them. Seems a greedy ploy for a place like Loungelover and it is the sole reason I didn't give it a score of 5.

Heard great things about Loungelover and decided to try it as I usually hang out in the West End. Boy am I glad that I did. Loungelover is one of the nicest places in London that I have been to.

The staff are amazing - it's like one big happy family and they really know how to make you feel welcome. Why can't we have more places like this, especially in the West End?

I wish I lived closer to the venue. The bar snacks are delicious and the drinks are really great.

Loungelover is the most exagerrated implementation of form over substance that I've had the unfortunate honour to experience.

Overpriced, lightweight rubbish. Loungelover is trying to be sophisticated and continental but fails to observe the basic premise that if you ask for a sophisticated, continental drink in a sophisticated, continental bar, the staff have at least been trained enough to know what they're supposed to be serving.

Grow up guys, learn your trade and keep it real. This, is just crap.

I visited Loungelover on my last trip to London and it has made my trip so much more interesting and now I am going to bring my friends back to a part of London that we would not normally go to.

I am glad that I ignored the negative reviews about Loungelover, I think they must be boring and cheap people who can't see the fun side of life.

Loungelover is such a friendly, unpretentious place to go to. It's visually stimulating, everywhere you look there is something interesting and fun. There isn't another bar like Loungelover in London and I don't think it's as expensive as some of the other bars in London just because it's in the East end.

On my last visit they had just completed the new toilets and they are fab. Check out Loungelover for yourself, they haven't won six awards for no reason!

I rang Loungelover to make a booking for a group of 15-20 people for my birthday drinks and the woman I spoke to was very rude and presumptuous. She told me that I had to have exact numbers, as people would not be permitted to stand around the table or float between the table and bar area. She also informed me, that a party of 15 requires a £500 deposit, and a party of 20 requires a £1000 deposit. According to her, "it's just that kind of bar". I'm sorry, but for a bar that serves £8 cocktails, I'm not impressed. I always thought that it was in the best interest of an establishment to attract customers, not turn them away.
Even though Loungelover is right around the corner from my house, I will never step through the doors.

The Loungelover is a grand looking bar, very opulent in design and thankfully you won't get refused for wearing trainers. Unfortunately, the clientele is trying far too hard for my liking. The drinks are overly expensive and you can't sit down even if there is a free table on Thursday/ Friday/Saturday nights because Loungelover operates a booking only seating system. Beware trying to rest those tired legs - you will most likely be pounced upon by one of the staff watching like hawks for just such a faux pas and subsequently be ushered into the very small standing area at the bar like a battery chicken.
The toilet (of which there is one) isn't even worthy of a mention. There's nothing more humiliating than queuing for the loo in the actual bar area because the line is more than 3 people long and there is no space inside.
I'm not saying it's awful. The experience was not unpleasant but I wouldn't go back. There are far better places in the area than Loungelover.

I think that the previous reviewer was spot on. Loungelover is an incredible visual experience, but I found it all a bit contrived. The drinks list is impressive, but too complicated, the toilets are laughable and the atmosphere is well, a little dull. I think that everyone should go to Loungelover and I'm sure most people will, but I doubt that too many will return. Not because it's bad, it isn't, but because once you've done it, it's done. I can't imagine this place ever having regulars.

The memory of Loungelover is a peculiar one. The bar is fantastic in the most literal sense of the word fantasy. I'm longing to return just to stop doubting my own recollection of its grandeur. I will forever be taking new cohorts here for a drink. But just the one. The experience seems too forced. The clientele too stiff. I felt like at any moment I might do something wrong and be ejected from the building. Go for a drink though. Unforgettable (oh, and so are the prices).

From the boys who bought you Les Trois Garcon, just down the road comes an equally eclectic bar. And if you know the LTG, you'll expect lashings of pretense to go with the lavish interior. Sadly, having (almost) no loos and an ability to attract an arrogant, dull (and monied up) crowd makes the experience trying, at the very least. Best off popping over to the George and Dragon on Bethnal Green Road!
