When I went to Lush Islington with three friends we were asked for ID. A bit strange, but fair enough. My friends had ID to show that they were all 24+. However, as my wallet had been stolen a few weeks before I had not had the chance to replace my driving licence yet and didn't have anything on me to prove my age. I explained this to the doorman and he was very rude to me. I ended up getting a cab home and back to pick up my passport just to get in to Lush Islington which honestly didn't turn out that amazing anyway! The doorman said that he was just doing his job and that they had a age limit of 21 and could not let anyone in without an ID. Absolutely ridiculous. I'm not going to start carrying my passport with me everytime I go for drinks, instead I will avoid going to Lush. I have lived in London for four years and not once have I been asked for ID before which I think is understandable as after all, I am 25 years old.
