This is a smart, nicely laid out mid-evening bar, worth going to for a while after starting out in quieter bars, and before heading to your ultimate destination. The door staff are friendly while enforcing sensible discretion on who gains entry.
I've not eaten here so can't comment on food but the one thing I will say is drinks are overpriced. While not the most expensive in the area, they're not cheap. They do drink deals here every so often at certain points in the day but aren't open about it, so do ask.
Had a great time on Friday, sales team were very helpful and a free round of shots was a great touch, will be back soon!
Worst service in the whole of Soho- avoid at all costs. After having our company Xmas drinks there (over 50 people), we were invited back in Feb with a first drink free offer obviously to get people out in a quiet period. We arrived a bit later than booked and were told sorry, your area is gone. No offer to order drinks, or to stand elsewhere, just a shrug and they disappeared. Staff were very rude and unaccommodating. You'd think they'd want the business of lots of people wanting a night out and to spend money on drinks, but they just don't care.Go ANYWHERE else but here! There are lots of other bars in the area where you will not get treated like scum!
Came here recently on a recommendation of a friend, enjoyed the cocktails which were amazing, staff were friendly and helpful (if a little stretched.)
Didn't think to book a table which every1 else had so there was little space to sit but will do next time.
Music was lively and upbeat (possibly a bit loud) but good all the same.
Will be back soon.
I was a bit worried about booking our Xmas party here as its a little bit more 'lively' than what we usually go for but I must say it was our best one yet!!
The food was great, we had the traditional 3 course lunch and a chocolate fountain in our own private room which we were able to keep until 3am!
Great staff, great quality and a bargain! Thanks LVPO!
Just had my hen party here at LVPO and had a fabulous time! We begun the night with their cocktail masterclass which was great fun. We then a lovely table with balloons and cupcakes and danced until 1am! I think the bars open until 3am but by that point it was more than my feet could stand. Great night, great staff, great place!
Do NOT book a party here. I reserved an area with a large minimum spend for Saturday night. My night was ruined by the staff as they tried to bully me into opening up the private area as they were at capacity.
I had to show them the emails they had sent me to confirm my booking (apparently they had sent me the wrong email), to cover their mistakes I was sent the proper confirmation email at 00.09 during the party.
I wouldn't mind but I had emailed them Several times as They had taken double the agreed deposit from my credit card (I even had to show my credit card statement at the party as it was still unresolved by then and the payment was taken in september). Not once did they realise they had made a mistake in regards to the booking for which I had received 2 confirmation emails.
I am unsure quite what the purpose of that was. Luckily I had a friend who is a qualified door supervisor who helped me deal with the persistent manager who was quite unpleasant. I really feel that they were trying to take advantage as I had been drinking also.
I have also previously reserved an area for 5 people for complimentary drinks on a Friday night- we could not find our table as they had crammed so many bookings into very small spaces.
Lvpo cares about profit not customer experience.
Great bar, went there for friends birthday. Really great atmosphere and friendly staff. Also really tasty cocktails! Would highly recommend coming here if you are looking for a great night in Soho!
Very average bar with slightly above average clientele and below average drinks. Also, beware if booking a party there - for a party of 40 (admittedly originally booked as a party of 25) we were given a round table for two people max, and very little standing space. About ten of my party left because it was too cramped.
Also, lured there with the promise of a free first drink - free drink didn't turn up until waiting over an hour and a half to speak to a manager, by which point a large number of my party had been, bought their own drink, and left. Overall a pretty bad experience after two fairly average ones previously. Would not recommend bothering with this place - I certainly won't again.
Only redeeming note is that the manager, when we finally got to speak to him, was reasonable. However, didn't help that we were kept waiting or were trying to fit 40 people at one point into a space really made for about ten MAX.
Came here for a cocktail class for my friends hewn do and we had a brilliant time! Such a laugh with the perfect amount of fun, banter, information and booze! Our bar tender was gorgeous and impressed us with all his tricks and we even had a go ourselves! The package gave us a free table afterwards as well which was decorated with balloons and confetti as a surprise! We stayed until 3am right until end! Defo coming again we loved it!
Came down with all my girl mates for their weekly night of Soho Chic on a Saturday and had a balst! Such a great atmosphere, great people and wicked music! I'll def be back x
Oh and follow them on twitter as they are always giving away free drinks!
Awesome atmosphere. Called to lvpo whilst on a night out having travelled from Yorkshire. Polite hostess on the door, and barstaff friendly too. Enjoyed it so much we called back later in the evening. The place was much busier on our return with a lively but friendly feel to it. We struggled to find a space outside until the front doorman (big guy with dreadlocks) noticed us and found us a quiet space to enjoy our visit. Having worked in the security industry for many years it's good to see there are still some truly professional doorstaff out there <<< pay rise deserved for the big guy lol.
Well worth a visit if out and about in soho. Well done to all at lvpo for getting it right.
Impressed with the Mojitos that were only £4.50 on happy hour, the girl who served me was really nice as well! Will be visiting again soon.
I went with a group of friends for the first time as we had won a competition, for a round of cocktails. Although my friend had received a text informing her of her reserved table we were told that we did not have one as they had made a mistake. They were uninterested in finding us alternative seating and the removed us from a table we had found free as it was reserved for someone else arriving later on. The crowd were stuck up rude and the manager very unhelpful, I would never go their for a drink again.
Went down on Friday for the first time, i'v gotta say it was brilliant. I was with my best mates which helped, but honestly the service was second to none, it was pretty busy, but they were quick so didnt notice a wait at all. I love the decor. And the happy hour is a rather good idea
Will definately be going again, good job!
Love this place and its happy hour!! Great night on a Frdiay :-) ps. Check out Twitter as these guys give away freebies constantly!
Having simply walked past LVPO a couple of friends and I decided to give it a go! The windows were open and from outside the place looked buzzing!.....it turned to be HAPPY HOUR all cocktails were £4.50 which for the middle of SOHO is pretty dam good! The bar tender seemed to know his stuff, was great banter and even through in a bit of flaring after we prompted him & was very friendly! Personally I would recommend the cocktail with the egg white sounds weird but it was LOVELY!The atmosphere was good great DJ and she wasn’t just playing the commercial stuff you hear everywhere, we ended up staying all night (open till 3!!!) Although none of us remembered too much the next day, we all agreed the cocktails were flowing the music was good and we will DEFFO be returning!I honestly don’t write these much but I felt this place deserved credit really has got a great vibe, with FANTASTIC COCKTAILS try it out! Be warned u may not remember too much the next day though!!
I had my birthday party here last week in the back bar and it was fantastic. My guests loved the atmosphere and decor with candles on every table, open brick work, quirky furniture and a gorgeous open fireplace. I decided to take the plunge and purchase a 'birthday package' and this really did what it said on the tin in making my night that little bit more special and impressive. There were cupcakes for everyone, delicious platters, sweets, a free entry allowance and a bottle of bubbly for me! Not to mention the great job someone did with the balloons and the confetti! I can safely say it was one of my best birthdays and with the spectacular cocktails and great music (until 3am!) it shall be remembered. Sorry for going on everyone, but it can be nightmare trying to find a decent birthday venue in central London so I really feel I have to flag this one up. Thanks to everyone involved I am now a very happy 26 year old!
I love this bar!! Me and the girls alwyas come for a cheeky happy hour drink and end up staying well into the night - its the only place I know in Soho that stays open until 3am! And doesn't cost the earth for a drink! Great atmosphere and clientele - although I've probably shot myself by talking about it on here - gem! x x x
Went there for a friends birthday at the weekend. Some of us had ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio first of all which was rather nasty, then a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and a Riesling which were both as bad... I went up to the bar to try a better bottle. I asked for a bottle of their Chablis but the disinterested host just said they didn't have any and served someone else. I waited and then asked instead for the Albarino, again out of stock.
Ok, how about the Pinot Blanc - no.
The Viognier? No.
So that's 4 different bottles of wine and they don't have ANY of them available. They literally had 4-5 types available overall from their large list, all of which seem to be better suited to chips than to a wine glass. I resent being ripped off with poor wines at high prices but when there's no decent wines even in stock I think it tells you something about the place - that they don't really care about providing good wine, only wine they can sell at a hefty markup. The final rip-off insult was the presence of a toilet attendant. Will not return for indifferent service, poor wines and the feeling I'm being taken advantage of.
Went to LVPO bar on Thursday as my friends had a fancy dress party booked in the basement bar the night was good the cocktails were great the staff was very friendly and very energetic until about 11pm when I went for a smoke, I came across a small guy that seemed to be the general manager by the name of ben I have never been so insulted in my life accused me of being tooo drunk and refused to let me re-enter the bar, I’m 27 and a very responsible adult and he made me feel like I was 10 I was having such a great time until he over reacted after I spilt my drink cause I slipped on something as I was going out the doors, I will never come back to the place and don’t recommend it unless you feel like you want to be stressed out by someone that probably doesn’t even own the place.
Went out with my mates to celebrate her birthday last Friday. As mentioned in previous posts, the doorman was really friendly- like a big teddy bear really - but not a push over - you wouldn't want to mess with him. It was quite crowded, but a nice crowd. Service at the bar was fast. The DJ played a lot of 'crowd pleasers' - commercial house, RnB, Hip Hop, Top 40, 80's stuff- he was fantastic! We all had a great evening!
I would have given 5 stars, but the air conditioning on the dance floor near the main bar was not working and it got quite hot in there.
Went to Lvpo a few nights ago, as we entered we were greater by the most friendly doorman ever, it took a while to get the first round in the very first bar but as soon as we entered the main seating area the atmosphere was much more relaxed. Upon getting the second round we were greeted by two bartenders, a blond female and aussie male, who served me and my mate not only quickly but seemed to be having as much fun as anybody else! Overall the atmosphere and service in the main area were amazing but the only drawback to the evening was a slight smell of sick in the main area. We toughly enjoyed the night except the nasty smell.
Btw we had a great jäger time!
Great food and atmosphere and worth a visit! Had such a great time !
Went to Lvpo on a date last week and was a bit sceptical to be honest - places with happy hours tend to be really young and chavvy in Soho. This was the exactv opposite - real 25 and up crowd. They had reserved us a great table right next to the orignal fireplace and we sat on a candlelit table in the comfiest armchairs I'd ever sat in! Cocktails were divine. I'm wrinting this because I would have passed LVPO every day not even though about giving it try -it's such a little gem! x p.s. date went well seeing him again!
OMG download a form off LVPO's website and you get happy hour from 5-10pm!! 50% off food and drinks!! Went with my work pals last week and had the best night at a right baragin!
Just booked our NYE tickets with you!! open until 4am and we get a free glass of bubbly all for a tenner! Can't wait LVPO!
Great atmosphere, excellent choice of music. We had a great time. Very friendly and positive mood, and pretty decor. Good coctails, bar staff very friendly and helpful throughout. LVPO sell very good food, especially the ribs. Overall would def recommend, great place to have a private function or birthday party.
50% of cocktails in their happy hour! Wicked bar x x x
Cool atmosphere, luxuirous decor, impressive cockatils & nice staff. One of our better choices for after work drinks in Soho.
Just had our works Christmas party in LVPO and I'm not sure if it was the copious amounts of alcohol (we had a vodka luge!) or what but it was amazing! Such a fun corwd, amazing music, more cocktail choices than I could cope with and some very pretty bar ladies!! See you in Jan!
Popped in LVPO the other day - looks amazing with all the Xmas lights and decorations up - its my new favourite place to get into the festive spirit!
17th Nov 2010. Dropped into LVPO on a very quiet and rainy Wednesday evening. Stood at the back bar waiting to be served by a member of staff who was dealing with a function booking. After standing there for about 5 minutes the member of staff disappeared. She returned and told us if we wanted drinks we needed to go to the front bar. Went to the front bar - waiting another 10 minutes or so while the barman very slowly made one cocktail. At the bar were my friend and I, a woman on her own and a couple who were being served. The barman was odd - cocky - when he asked me what i wanted he demanded I say 'please' when I asked for a Garden Martini - so I said please and was then told they didn't have the ingredients for the Garden Martini that was on the menu. Asked for a straight Martini and was asked if I wanted it Wet or Dry. I asked the difference as I'd never been asked before ( and I've drunk a lot of Martinis) and cocky barman rolled his eyes and rather than explaining the difference he said he'd make me a Martini how he liked it. Not particularly keen on the idea of a cocky Martini I asked for a Dirty Martini instead - he asked if I was sure as if I'd just asked for washing up liquid on ice?? I said yes - cocky bar guy rolled his eyes again. We ordered 4 cocktails in all which were made extremely slowly. At one point a good looking girl came to the bar so he stopped making our drinks and turned his attention to good looking girl while our two already made cocktails sat warming up on the bar. Finally our cocktails were made - it took 27 minutes from getting to the bar to getting 4 drinks in our hands - and remember it was an extremely quiet night. The bar is ok - could do with more seating but the cocky bar fellow means I'll never go back and in fact we took our custom to a rather less sumptuous and highly commercial bar up the road where they made good cocktails skillfully and in a fraction of the time that the guy in LVPO seemed capable of. Shame.
I went with a colleague to LVPO last week as they were having some sort of re-launch party and they had kindly given us a table with some lovely free cocktails and food for the evening! I have to0 say it was one of the best nights out I've had in a long time! Even though the bar was full to bursting the atmosphere was fantastic and the staff were so friendly and accommodating...constantly coming round with extra nibbles and drinks! The place looked amazing and there was even a stilt-walker! A fabulous friday night was had by all, see you there next week!
Wicked music, friendly service and great atmosphere.....Friday nights here are insane!
Threw a surprise party for my girlfriend in here last Friday and the service was second to none. The staff were more than happy to put up with my constant phone calls and visits to the venue to get everything ready for the big day! I was over the moon with the effort that went in - the decorations were superb, the food was great and she even got a special cocktail procession with lots of sparklers at midnight! All of our friends siad how great the venue and staff were and now I am most certainly in her good books for a very long time. Thanks LVPO!
I went to LVPO with a friend the other week as she had received a free round of cocktails from them by following them on Twitter. I loved it, nestled in the heart of Soho I expected it to be more neon bright than glamorous chic. The bar staff were only too happy to give us our cocktails - 2 expertly mixed Mojito's and sat on the comfy old armchairs enjoying the exciting atmosphere around us. I feel like I have found a gem.
Helena B
found the bar rather pleasant and the music very entertaining, my friends and I were dissapointed however in some of the interaction from barstaff on several occasions from a rather sleezy australian in one bar and an extremley rude aweful blonde who would possible look half pretty if she smiled more often when serving customers
I've used LVPOs loads of times and even had my birthday party in the downstairs room there last year. Always get a great service.
I have nothing to fault with LVPO... after recently discovering this place 4 weeks ago I can be found here every Saturday night! From drinks to bar staff, management, security, atmosphere and music- LVPO has it all!!
