The Lyric Hammersmith Theatre has done a wonderful job of renovating and rebranding the Lyric Hammersmith Bar. Out goes stuffy theatre bar, in comes an open, clean, modern space for chatting and drinking.

The Venue
Lyric Hammersmith Bar is a big space, spread out into a few distinct areas. Just inside the entrance are Scandinavian-designed, blonde-wood benches to provide room to spread out. If you are early enough, bag yourself one of the comfy sofas near the bar. Keep your eyes open for the renovated garden terrace, which creates an outside oasis.

The Atmosphere
It's a theatre-going crowd at Lyric Hammersmith Bar, so there aren't many rowdies here. A good mix of ages enjoy the space, and there is a nice buzz, which builds as it comes closer to curtain time. Post-show people hang around to argue over the play while enjoying a night cap.

The Drink
The Lyric Hammersmith Bar has Staropramen, Leffe and Strongbow on tap. Bottled beers, alcopops, and wines give a good range of choice. Prices are a slight premium, but nothing extortionate. Pick up a bottle of wine to share with your mates.
