Madison's Bar/Restaurant has now exchanged hands and there is a new management as of now.

The previous regime were terrible and I can assure all Bow Quarter residents that things have changed for the better.

Although we have not changed everything we wish to, as this is work in progress.

We will try and offer our best service and would welcome any feedback if things are not upto clientèle standard.

There is a manager who will make sure that any feedback given will be looked at and taken on board to try and improve the bar/restaurant.

i have been in the bar on a weekend and have found only the english cook in there having to do the breakfast as well as serve in the bar as no other staff member has been in, so had to wait for my breakfast, she had also just finished cleaning the toilets!!!!! This to me is not acceptable,i would like to also know why english food is only served at weekends please.

Clearly things have changed in the 3 years since this review was written.

As a resident of Bow Quarter I avoid this bar if at all possible.

The main reason for this is the staff, who appear to be having a better time than the clientele.
Loud, disinterested in the customers and foul-mouthed, they create an atmosphere which is completely at odds with the rest of the community.

My first visit to the bar featured a few middle aged fellows who were so drunk they could barely stand. Apart from being irritating to see and hear, they also bought a touch of their special character to each table, rambling on incoherently to whoever was unfortunate enough to be nearby. They even managed a little stunt roll onto each leather sofa. The staff of course found this highly amusing. Rather than a bit shit.

Worth particular mention is a shaven-headed chap who takes great delight in shouting rudely to a blonde barmaid as she attempts to clear up. He treats the place as his own private gang, and has an especially grating habit during football matches of cheering for the opposing team of whichever side seems most supported within the bar.

Also worth a slow hand clap is the football coverage, which is shoddily imported Greek channels and the like, rather than the legal Sky / ESPN coverage. I do enjoy how they don't bother turning down their music so punters can actually hear the match commentary either.

If you don't live in Bow Quarter, don't bother. If you do, you've probably worked out not to bother going already. Unless you work there.
