I used to quite like this joint on the way home after a night in Camden. Then one night they surved me a kebab with a thin, sharp, nail-like piece of steel in it. Almost took a tooth out on it. When I took it back they offered me half a refund as I had eaten half of it. Not great.

no-one went to the marathon for the food..though its good..you are probably a plant from that shithole bar bartok

..the marathon is as famous as camden itself ...every who is anybody in the music or art world has used it and loved it for years..

keith richards, shane mc'gowan and paul weller are all on record saying some of the best nights of their lives were spent there in the company of danny blue..

the marathon is historic ..and signaled the great alliance b'tween the irish and greek .. the dionysian shebeen ..camden council and the cops should be hung for meddling with the rare find that 'the marathon' is..

personally i blame the stage school bunny winehouse and pete pathetic doherty..for bringing in hordes of equally dull stage school and hooray well-off spring brats that stink up camden..

they've ruined the place..and now it looks like our only salvation and last chance saloon is under threat..having to close down at one o'clock..and keep the middle class raffle riffs from the door!

I had heard about how good The marathon was but I wasn't sure how much fun a kebab house could really be. Oh how wrong I was! This place is brilliant - there's nice kebabs, you can buy beer behind the counter and there's even a couple of old guys jamming in the background. You have to try The Marathon if you haven't already!

The Marathon is madness! Seriously, I didn't know places like this existed. When we popped in here by accident last Saturday there were two old guys playing jazz out the back, with a huge, drunken crownd in front of them. If you are ever in need of somewhere brilliant to go and get a kebab then I urge you to head to The Marathon. It's brilliant.
