This yank absolutely adored this pub - MofW is my unofficial hangout whenever I'm in London

food is wonderful - owner/chef knows his veggies (roasted parsnips yummm) not to mention steak and Guinness pie - great place on St. Patrick's Day!

Can't wait to go back.

Came here for a work Xmas lunch. Organisers at pub assured us beforehand that we would be sat together, however once we turned up for the lunch, we were spread out over 4 tables. Staff kept topping our wine levels up and then significantly overcharged us for the alcohol - I wonder if they assumed we would all be too drunk to notice? They also threatened us with the police if the bill was not sorted (0 out of 10 for customer service!).

The one star is for the food - quality was ok, portions measly and food was not what was specified on the menu (e.g. no sprouts - its not xmas without sprouts!! Don't list it on the menu if you are not going to serve it).

My advice - steer clear.

I wonder if the quality of wine was up to standard,as I have had my Xmas Lunch here before and we were served a quality wine as th base standard.

We were not over charged at all and were very polite, we paid the bill as expected and had a 'smashing' evening there. The food was well presented and tasted wonderful! 4 Stars from me.

And P.S. I didn't see any sprouts listed on the menu, maybe you had a little too much wine and got blurry eyed!
