I feel bad about reducing the amount of stars to two here because, really, it's a nice, stylish, relaxed venue with great cocktails and friendly staff. We went there last night to see if it could be a potential venue for my friend's upcoming 30th and it certainly ticked all the boxes, except...

My God, the music! Even in the most pumped up, swinging from the walls, Shoreditch nightclub you would struggle to find music cranked up to the volume it was last night. This venue doesn't have a dancefloor - it has more of a chilled vibe where people go to have a few cocktails and converse with their friends; but the music was so horrendously loud I was relying on lip reading to communicate with the person sitting right next to me. My friend spoke to one of the bar staff who agreed that the noise was excessive but didn't seem to think he could do anything; she then spoke to the DJ who dismissed her with a "yeh, yeh, yeh" and if anything I could've sworn it got louder after that! People were complaining about the noise levels in the toilets (the only place anyone could go to hear themselves think)and when we spoke to a Canadian guy outside he told us that he was friends with the management and had actually persuaded them earlier to turn it down a notch - so it wasn't even as loud as they originally wanted!

It was my first time in this bar so I have no idea whether this is a regular issue, but I can say it did pretty much ruin that part of the evening - which is a shame because everything else in that bar really fits the bill in terms of being a great little venue to hang out. It was pretty empty that evening and I actually felt that I was sticking it out by staying in there as opposed to having an enjoyable evening - the music should, of course, be part of the experience but in this case it was just ridiculously intrusive!

Had the back area booked from 7pm onwards, and what a night that was!! Ive been to Match before the make over and am happy to say that the new look is even better!!! Its a very female friendly place, which is becoming rare to find in central London nowdays. Overall the staff were great and so were the drinks!! Keep up the great work

I booked a private area in Match Bar for 45 of us to celebrate my engagement drinks on Saturday night. We were all having a great time until an arrogant security guard accused my brother of taking drugs and forcefully kicked him out! A ridiculous accusation with no evidence to support it but the manager refused to listen to reason. The manager and the security guard had no respect for their customers or care for the reputation of their bar. I will never be going back there after the way we were treated and how they ruined my night.

I came here for the first time last night and what I remember was like a fireshow from behind the bar... It felt like a cocktail masterclass watching their bartenders - spin, shake and mix the drinks. My friends and I had a great time, thank you to the bar man a dead ringer for Prince Harry! Great night for our Christmas drinks.

I've been to the match bar a couple of times and have always found it a relaxed friendly place to have a few drinks with friends. It has atmosphere but isn't too loud and being tucked away just off Cavendish Square is usally not jam packed. The Match Bar also stays open later than most places in the West End.

Good times, rang up in the day and managed to get a space for me and my 6 friends, they do table service and the cocktails are amazing. Thank you Match Bar, will definitely be back.

I have been here twice and enjoyed it both times. The staff are friendly and informative and you are not kept waiting for too long.

The second time i went, we ordered food, which was delicious! Drinks are good value for money and i would definitely recommend this place.

I reserved an area at Match bar on Saturday 20th June for my birthday drinks. From the moment we arrived, the service we received was great.

The manager was very helpful and the area we had reserved was perfect for the size of my party. The bar was busy all evening, but at no point did anyone have to queue to be served at the bar.

The cocktails dished up were of the highest quality, and could not be faulted on any count.

I would highly recommend Match bar for a fabulous venue for a party or general drinking!

Went to Matchbar last week after reading about it on this website and have to agree that it is a really great place to go on a Saturday night! The cocktails were great and not too pricey and the music was good chill out. We arrived at Matchbar quite late (around 10ish) yet we were able to find a table straight away. The bar staff were courteous and we'll definitely be going back again!

Matt at Matchbar is the most helpful, accomodating manager I think there is in West London! I had my birthday here last weekend & it was fantastic! We had our own area, right next to the DJ so we could put in requests, A very good waitress who we kept busy but still managed to keep the delicious cocktails flowing! If you want a nice, relaxed yet classy event, you can't do better than Match! 100%

I visited Matchbar to for some pre-dinner birthday drinks with a group of 15 friends, one of whom was a wheelchair user. When calling to reserve an area Matt (manager) was excellent in understanding our needs, ensuring we were positioned in a fully accessible spot. On arrival our party were met by James (floor manager) who again checked our needs were being met and that our wheelchair user had everything he needed. Excellent cocktails, great atmosphere, superb service. Will be back here soon !
