If you have deep pockets, this is a very nice place to pass the time. I like to sit at the bar, and this is a very nice one – very attractively styled and lit in a minimalist fashion.
Our friendly Lithuanian bartender made a nice martini, my wife had a couple of happy hour bellinis. Two very tasty choices from the bar snacks menu. Bill came to £54.
I attended the Angel Court restaurant on Thursday 30 Sept 2010 having read fairly positive reviews on the net. With respect to decor I rate the place highly, fresh clean look, high ceilings and no unnecessary clutter. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the food and value for money. My friend and I ordered from the Al a carte menu and it seems that even the most basic of starters would set you back £10 or so. Being a party of two we opted for the £35 sharing mixed platter. Enough for two you would think. Far from it. If memory serves me well, it contained 2 bits of chicken tikka, 2 pieces of curried mackerel (awful), a handful of prawns, 2 sheek kebabs and 4 cubes of paneer cheese. Oh, and 2 potato cakes the size of a 50p coin. Hardly enough for one person to munch on. For mains we ordered two dishes, each priced at £17.50. A chicken masala type dish, with rice and black lentil sauce, and a Lamb Biryani. I must admit that the taste of the chicken was nice; the lamb biryani was very disappointing - I think we found 3 pieces of lamb. The size of the dishes were an absolute disgrace. The lamb biryani was supposed to be a main dish, what arrived was like a side plate of rice, as I said it barely contained any meat. As for the chicken dish, tasty yes, but again portion size was a joke. Two long strips of chicken, a drizzling of black lentil sauce and an espresso cup sized blob of rice. To top it all off, the naan breads (at £3 a pop), were no bigger than the palm of my hand, and I'm no giant. In short, for anyody thinking of eating at Mint Leaf Lounge - I would take a deep breath, jump on a bus and head off to brick lane. You will be much happier, leave the restaurant full and content, and probably £50 pounds richer for it. Sorry Mint Lounge, but you really failed to deliver!
I really enjoyed myself at the club and have to admit that its a great change from your average west end club. The drinks were west end prices but they're generous with their portions so a couple of vodka with mixers went down a treat and kept me goin for most of the night! I thought the music was great for what it was however it could've played a little more R n B than house (Just my preference! it didnt stop me from dancing the night away!). From the moment we got there we were greeted by friendly faces and the security team were lovely! I didn't have a problem with any doormen as I found them to be quite gentlemen like (which is a nice change!). Will definitely go back!
What a beautiful venue!
Popped in a couple times for after work drinks and was impressed with the detailed cocktail menu so couldn't resist passing by when I heard they had a party on..
The crowd was superb, really laid back party goers and the music was a good blend of everything..best of all they actually had decent sized tables that were actual booths which is a rarity in clubs these days!
If your planning on going anythime soon look out for the champagne bar, a snazzy little area with marvellous decor!
Overall I'd say it's better looking then it's Picadilly sister venue and would advise anyone to pop down and give it a go!
The food was excellent. The city lunch menu (£17) had good choices and very reasonably priced. I will be back for the chef's table though. Cocktails were different and very well made and the champagne bar is absolutely stunning. You won't be disappointed.
