One of the few establishments in Balham where you won't be drowned in the endless guffaws of blue-blooded Tarquins with hyphenated surnames, and their dead eyed, equine girlfriends.

Sure, it's a bit like a bin mans wake in there sometimes, and it has all the panache of a retirement home sponsored by Fosters, but this is where it's strength lies.

This clever social camouflage is the Moon Under Water's ticket to glory.

Where else in Balham can you witness the operatic beauty of a sports casual clad oik, barking unintelligible swear words at his velour sasquatch of a wife. Or see a soiled OAP leering at passers by, while animatedly scratching himself in their general direction.

This live-action Jeremy Kyle show is way better than the beige R&B offal pumped into the average gastro pub for entertainment. So don't be a snob, throw on your best tracksuit and get yourself down to 'Moons' for a Zebu burger and some Sourz.
