Having recently moved in to the area The Morpeth was one of the first pubs I visited. Word of mouth around the area had encouraged me to visit. With so many characterless pubs in the area The Morpeth is totally different, abundant with character and charm. The friendly and welcoming staff have good knowledge of the real ales offered and were able to recommend wine too. The food is traditional British pub food and in particular I enjoyed the selection of bar snacks which were offered tapas style. The lunch offer at £6.50 seemed really good value. What I really love is the 'Ghost Cam' that is in the bar. A screen which is linked to the supposedly haunted cells below. My next visit will be for a birthday party I have booked in The Spying Room upstairs, which has a lovely lounge with views over the river Thames.

I would definitely recommend The Morpeth, a great local pub with friendly staff, efficient service and a great atmosphere.

The Morpeth Arms is a nice, unpretentious pub quite near the Tate. Good service and even though it gets busy it’s never crowded. I’d say the Morpeth Arms is well worth a visit.
