The epitome of chic glamour, Mustard combines elements of vibrant retro influences with sophisticated cocktails that keep the City workers coming back for more.The VenueHidden in a simple courtyard, the imposing modern facade of Mustard in an otherwise empty concrete space beckons you to venture inside. Impressive, eye catching light fixtures grab your attention, and a mixture of Sixties-style brown suede seats, large dark leather sofas and chic black liqueur tables give you enough reason to sit down and absorb the distinct style. However, some cheap white plastic tables dotted around definitely bring down the look.
The AtmosphereOdd music booms through the speakers, old school club classics in fact, which doesn’t quite match the decor of the venue, yet this doesn’t seem to phase the elegant customers, who are too busy drinking their glamorous cocktails and feeling, well, glamorous. The effect of lounging on a decadent leather chaise lounge seems to have this impact on most. Don’t come here for a relaxed drink, the ambience is all about looking and acting smart.
The DrinkThe drinks list isn’t cheap, but you’re paying for quality. Expert bar tenders create magical cocktails for £7.50-£9.00, with lots of unique drinks such as Lychee and Ginger Martini for a refreshing twang, or a delicate Bison made up of vodka, Chambord, creme de cassis, raspberry puree, and fresh raspberries. They taste just as heavenly as they sound. Wines is limited and relatively expensive, but very good Champagne is worth splurging out for, such as Dom Perignon and Cristal to really glam up your evening. The spirits are also only of the best quality, such as Grey Goose and Chivas Regal to keep connoisseurs happy. Food served is equally chi chi, with elegant bar bites and sharing plates to tickle the taste buds.
