Old Dr Butlers Head is by far the best pub in the City for an after work drink, or even lunch and a pint. I have spent many a night drinking here. In the summer they open up the double doors and you can stand in the alley with the other punters enjoying that fine weather. The staff are some of the nicest people I've ever encountered and even when the place is packed you never have to wait for a drink.


The customers are generally a healthy mix of young and old and the place always has a great atmosphere. There are some more swanky places in the area vying for the money of the suits, but Old Dr Butlers Head is the place I keep going back to simply because no other place compares.

I love the interior of Old Dr Butler's Head. It's a really authentic old pub with a Victorian wooden look to it and it's all lit by gas lamps. Old Dr Butler's Head is busy at lunch times, no surprise as the food is good. This place is really old and friendly and you always feel at home.
