New management has made a huge difference to this pub, which already had achieved a local 'cult' status for it's legendary Sunday lunches.
A new chef and new landlords have really pulled it off, with frequent live music and movie nights upstairs, an inspired hamburger night on Mondays, where you pay the time for your meal, up to 10.00pm. So a burger bought at 6.30 costs £6.50, or at 8.00 costs £8.00. Clever stuff.

The ale side is also well manged, with numerous guest ales and even a large selection of regional ciders being available for the thirsty drinker who can get home by public transport.

The atmosphere is always relaxing and staff are always attentive and pleasant.

Makes a great change to have such a progressively run pub that still maintains the old-school values of a local place to meet and talk.

Popped in last Sunday to check out the changes and was really impressed. Maintains its traditional look and feel with some nice modern touches.

Had a great lunch and even on a busy Sunday there was service with a smile.

Pleased to have such a nice old pub back with new life

Popped back in here after a long time away and thankfully it has had a refurb and the menu has changed, food was great and the service was excellent I will make sure I pop back again soon.
