Wow, spot the fake reviews!
Several people I know have been refused entry unless someone they know 'is already inside' - how does that work?! I've been here before and it's just a normal pub, which is fine, but I am never coming here again after 2 friends of mine were denied entry - it's not like they were drunk or in a stag party either. Well done on ruining my friends' evening. Guinness tastes the same everywhere you go, sorry!
Avoid like the plague. Though that shouldn’t be too hard, seeing as my experience seems to reflect a lot of the problems faced by others who have made comments.
Approaching the entrance on a quiet Monday evening, the bouncer stopped me, asked me if I was alone. I told him I was meeting some friends inside, but I wasn’t sure if they were they yet as they had told me they were running late. ‘I’m not letting you in unless you know for sure you have people inside’ was the response I got. I explained that I’d probably have to check, but he was having none of it.
Seemingly realising that his reasoning was on very shaky grounds, he then decided to ask me for ID, which as a 30-year-old and looking clearly older than either 18 or 21, I no longer carry. ‘Not letting you in, you don’t have ID.’ At which point, I told him this was ridiculous and stormed off. I then went back, as this was absolute nonsense the way I was being treated, especially seeing as the pub looked to be fairly quiet.
He refused to answer any more of my questions, failed to give me a valid reason why I had been denied entry, and so I feel compelled to let others know. I was dressed in my office work clothes, wasn’t rude and can see no real reason why this ought to happen. Don’t waste your time.
I've been going to this O'Neills Bar when I have mates from the States and they love it! It's the first pub I think of when they want to have a great time. I always have a great time and thinking of having my 30th birthday for sure!! You'll always have a great time, however I recommend for those who love to sit to get there early for a table/seat and go around the pub and make new friends (or future dates!)
I absolutely love o'neills! Everytime we come to london, we always come to O'Neills Wardour Street, and it is fantastic for a cheap, fun filled night out. The music is great, the atmosphere is great, and the service is great. Would recommend it to anyone!
I disagree with the other comments on O'Neill's, I had an amazing night out and we ended up staying put all night. They had great food (Irish Stew), flowing Magners and the best atmosphere plus the live band upstairs was awesome! The best bit about this place was that once we had our seats we didn't have to move...floor service all night! Slante O'Neill's (Cheers in Irish!).
I have to agree with the other reviews of O'Neill's, it's a good fun night out with late licence and you can go straight into the Chinese restaurant afterwards if you've failed to pull (unlikely in there!).
O Neill's is the perfect place to sit on the second floor and have some pints. When I was at O'Neill's i jumped up to dance with a 19 year old, blonde, pretty Essex girl and then she left without giving me her email address.
This is the right place for everyone to have a relaxed time and enjoy the taste of a good beer. Highly recommended. Have fun at the pub!
O'Neills has to be one of the greatest pub chains created for they sell the best alcholic drink made to date "MAGNERS IRISH CIDER" there will never be a drink as tasty as this I advise you to sample. Oh and the music is alright
