One of the most beautiful views in London, the cocktails are amazing and the staff can do anything out of the menu.
No idea how this place has picked up the negative reviews below. We called them on a Friday afternoon and picked up an early dinner booking for that evening. Turned up to a friendly welcome and a great window-side seat. Service was friendly and very competent - sufficiently I over-tipped, which is a rarity. Scallops, Trio of pork and blood orange sorbet all delicious, steak, carrots and a fig cocktail not so great but perfectly fine and all reasonably priced considering the venue - final bill with 3 courses + drinks was £120 including service for 2. Stayed on for drinks in the bar, which is pricey but a lovely uncrowded spot for a celebratory drink or two. We had a great night and would recommend to anyone who likes the idea of dinner or drinks with a view, especially for visiting relatives or colleagues - the views of canary wharf and the city are simply superb.
It is a shame there are negative reviews as I visited Sat 19/3 and had a fantastic time!
I emailed a month in advance to book, however I did not receive a confirmation. I telephoned two days later to complain and the reservation was made and an email confirmation sent.
I called on Sat morning to confirm our reservation.
Upon arrival the cloakroom and reservations staff are courteous and friendly!
It is quite an experience jetting up to the top floor in the dedicated lift and when we arrived in the bar we were treated with immediate excellent customer service.
The cocktails were amazing, especially when we decided to go up to the viewing gallery and enjoy some drinks overlooking the most fantastic view of our Capital.
Granted, the place is expensive but I do believe you get what you pay for! I even challenged the staff at closing time about the negative reviews I had read and they explained that the place operates and very strict reservation and dress code policy and if guests do not adhere to these they are asked to leave which I found an articulate and reasonable response!
I would thoroughly recommend Paramount for a visit...how long you stay depends on your budget.
Easily the best views in London! This is the perfect way to start your evening, and a great place to take somebody if you are trying to impress! The cocktails are great and the bar is done out very nicely. I would agree with previous reviewers in that the service is slow and the bar staff can be quite surly and arrogant, but lets be honest - this place is all about the views, and these are stunning. So for that alone it is definitely 5 STAR!
We made a reservation for 27th Dec to celebrate my cousin's 30th Birthday and we had guests travel up from Brighton especially for the evening.
We all turmed up looking forward to having a great night only to see that the place was closed!! Evening ruined, needless to say we will not be returning!
The annoying thing is that I was kept on hold for ages when making the reservation on the telephone while the receptionist checked that they were in fact open for business that evening. To date we have been given no explanation and cannot get through on the telephone. Steer clear of this place!
Took my staff there last night for our office Christmas party. Although the place is very tidy the staff attitudes and customer service are horrendous. Even though the place was not very busy our drink orders took forever to arrive, and sometimes didn't arrive at all (i suspect they still charged us for it). At one point the waitress bumped into one of our staff and spilled an entire tray of 10 beers all over 3 of us - and then charged us for the beers she spilt over us. What planet are these guys on!? Very unclassy! The "service charge" way automatically added to our £520 bill and I had to request the manager to remove it! It wasn't just us either. The table next to us were complaining about the service as well. Avoid at all costs if you want an enjoyable evening.
A few friends and I went a couple of weeks ago, had a brilliant time, the views were breathtaking and by far the best in London. The cocktail menu was extensive, and although pricey was well worth the £11.00, I had the Three King Swizzle which was well balanced and beautifully crafted. We waited a little too long for the Bar Food to arrive at the table but all in all a brilliant night out!
Staff attitudes here varied wildly from friendly (cloakroom, security and waiting staff), to extremely snotty (bar staff).
After ordering 2 long drinks and three shots we were surprised to receive a bar bill for £55 - including £6.50 service for three minutes work.
When my friend simply asked to confirm the amount, we were asked in a very huffy manner, what did we expect in a bar of "this calibre"!!
I was shocked by how fast they turned nasty and asked if they would remove the £6.50 service as I did not feel we were receiving any.
This was removed, followed by the woman flouncing off loudly saying "I can't be arsed with this!", and the male barman telling us we should check the menu before we order. I explained that I don't usually check the menu when ordering my usual drink, who does? Also that we drink in many bars of this calibre, but none with such blatant, and undeserved rip-off prices.
In summary, nice views, lovely crab spring rolls, but frankly, all ruined for me by the service. There are so many friendlier places to drink and eat in London, your money will go twice as far (in every way) elsewhere, unless you enjoy being made to feel small!
