I went there on Sat night. It is extremely crowded and not a big place. I literally couldn't move about. There are only two cubicles in the small oldfashioned rest room. There was a live performance which is a plus. All in all It wasn't my cup of tea but someone who loves burlesque may like it more.

Went on a groupon £19 instead of £45. I would have been very peed off if I paid full whack!
3 course meal was like a buffet that kept on coming, was nice but not what we expected. We were seated half of us on low pouffes and the other half on normal chairs around tiny tables.
There supposed to be 3 shows but only 2. One was a (pole) dancer to Brazilian music. (she was good). Didn't see most of it cause there were loads of people crowded around standing up. The other was a drag queen, who seemed a bit peed off.
Entry into 80's night club? It was the same place. Not much 80's music though.
Photo shoot? - didn't happen. Just some guy walking round taking photos of everyone.

We did have a good time, as we drank expensive cocktails and had a dance.

So, totally misleading voucher - be warned. Its just a pub with loud music and a bit of a show but a good laugh.

ps thank you for not throwing our drunk mate out - she was totally outrageous!

I was very disappointed with the Peacock bars service when arranging a booking for valentines day for my partner and I. We got in touch with the peacock bar over a week and a half ago. We had to email twice and phone 3 times! We were told the only way to book was by email which would of been fine except that no one responded to them and when we got through on the phone the guy just said he was 'behind' but would be in touch. After hearing nothing we spoke to someone again (2 days) before valentines day!) and were rushed off the phone and told they were fully booked. This was really bad service and left us limited time to
make other arrangements! Very disappointing first communications with this bar. If we had of had a booking this would of been my deciding factor as to whether to use them for my 30th but as communication was so poor I would have concerns about spending money and pre-arranging anything with this bar now.

I had the Best Hen do last night here ever! The staff are friendly, helpful and laid back and the atmosphere is lovely- everyone was up for a laugh. The entertainment is good- awesome poledancer. Can't recommend it enough if you want somewhere fun, lively and friendly. I was a bit skeptical about this place after reading the reviews but they are nothing like the experience I have had when I've been there and this is the 3rd time. Each night there has been brilliant so really recommend it

Genuinely awful. I cannot recommend you save yourself from this experience enough. we went here last night for the £19 3 course dinner and burlesque show. what we got was enough deep fried finger food to feed a four year old between the 5 of us which arrived over the course of 3 hours. The burlesque turned out to be one woman miming bad karaoke, and felt more like 3pm entertainment at an OAP home for war veterans. The manager was extremely stressed, and when I complained I had to wait in a complain queue before getting to her and feeling too sorry for her to really complain as much as i would have liked. The evening was completely missold and mismanaged, they knew before the evening the number of people eating and they had clearly just not brought in enough food to cover the number of people, that or one of their microwaves had broken and they couldn't heat up the precooked cheap battered food. We ended up leaving and going to eat somewhere else. Such a shame, as we were all really looking forward to it. I am still a little dumbfounded they had the gall to take our money.

I Recently celebrated my 30th birthday here,and WOW!! What a night,absolutely brilliant!

Everything from the lead up to the celebration-Karl is a 'star' and never fails to keep you feeling reasurred,(safe hands to be in when planning a big celebration!) to the friendly staff, great food and fantastic entertainment, they have an 'in-house' photographer which is fab! so nice to know that you dont have to spend the night worrying about taking pictures,as they seem to capture everything for you (and so well) and best of all, pictures are free to view online (not trying to cash in like many other venues!)

A real hidden gem in the heart of the city!
we are now planning our next celebration in order to return...so far 'payday' is our only excuse!!

Peacock bar-YOU ROCK!!

Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou

My fiancee and I had an excellent time at Peacock Bar for our engagement bash. We booked their cordoned off area on a Friday night complete with its own bar & bar staff and we treated royally. Everything from the shows to the cheesy disco after was spot on. However what really made our night special was the ever attentive staff and wonderful party atmosphere. We shall return.

New Years Eve at the Peacock Bar 2011 was absolutely fantastic. The staff were amazing, really friendly and incredibly helpful throughout the entire evening. The food was perfect and my friends and I had such a wonderful time.

NYE can often be quite a disappointment but the Peacock bar was anything but disappointing. I would highly recommend this bar. Great party atmosphere, perfect for a special occasion. Thumbs up! :)

Ahh, Peacocks. I love this place. I first stumbled upon it when I was looking for a great venue with a difference for my 30th. I was planning on going to Vegas, but realistically I managed to bring Vegas (sort of) here. And my 30th was absolutely amazing (albeit, I can't remember much, but it was!).More recently, however, I had to organise our team Christmas party and I thought what better way of doing this than an easily locatable venue that encompasses cocktail master class; so I went with Peacocks again. Again, I was not disappointed nor failed - having Karl (bookings manager) at your fingertips made it so easy. Great guy and always quick to come back to you. Winner (thanks Karl!).We had the very lovely Mikey be our trainer in the cocktail making and it was so much fun, our team managed to mingle and socialise with one another moreso than on a regular basis and making the cocktails were just great (even if everyone thought my mai tai looked like pond water, it was good!). French Martini much have been my fave though!I highly recommend Peacocks for a night out - the food, atmosphere, service, entertainment and drinks are superb. Massive thanks again to both Mikey and Karl for their efforts.

The staff and service within the bar could not be faulted everyone was friendly and helpful, a fun place to go and be for the night...am defo going to plan another few visits to the bar..they haven't seen the last of us...lol

Wow a company Christmas party event that is actually fun. Like I am sure most people I have had to endure too many so so company Christmas parties. It is no so much that the food (is food is always so average at themed restaurants?) is so so, the drinks are so so or even that the entertainment is poor it is just that the whole evening feels a bit forced and the different elements do not gel together so what what is actually a pretty expensive evening which we want be fun for our staff comes off as a bit of a damp squib. This year I let the junior staff pick the venue and they did a heck of a better job than us old f*rts and picked a burlesque place called Peacock bar well off the beaten track in Clapham Junction which my wife and I had never hear of .

From the minute you walk into Peacock Bar you know it is going to be different. All the staff are all dressed up 30s style and very cheeky - it has been some time I suspect since my wife has been asked to show her ID and been told she looks like a "very very naughty girl" . She loved it Thirty minutes later I am behind the bar with all my staff cheering because I have just made a cocktail so vulgar that it would be considered chavvy in Faliraki and I am loving it too. The food much to my surprise is excellent but the real killer is the shows. I expected I would be sitting down to watch a show a bit like at a theatre. Nothing of the kind - not only are lots of people up dancing around stage dancing around but all the shows are interactive and people from each group are being dragged on stage which of course makes it so much more engaging. And most importantly of all my staff are loving every minute of it and getting very very merry.

Are you sure you went to The Peacock Bar?
None of the staff were dressed up and the entertainment was awful when we went. If you have seen burlesque before you should know to expect an actual show, not a girl singing a few songs in a corset.

Someone needs to let this place know that a three course meal doesn’t mean sharing plates of raw vegetables/bowls of chips/mini burgers cut into 4 and fried things.

We deeply regret choosing this venue for our friend’s farewell. It has taken me some time to get around to writing my review as I am still sadden by how the night went, with it being Souks like night in London.

The venue is too small, horrible decorated and the drink prices are obscene considering this and the location. Did you raid a dump for those coaches?

So disappointed, I urge you to avoid the peacock, London has much better to offer.

If I could give no star I would. I read the last review written and I wonder if this person was in the same place. The peacock is a poor excuse for a burlesque club or any other type of club. At best it is an overpriced outdated bar. The manger Karl was rude on the phone and in person on the night. Not professional. There was little space and it was over booked. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.
I would not be surprised if they write the good reviews on here themselves!

Yesterday I had one of greatest times ever. It is the second time I have been to Peacock. The first time was a corporate event including nibbles, the show, drinks mixing lessons, and DJ. That time I was not expecting anything because I had never been there and it was so much fun throughout the evening. Unforgettable! For this reason, I chose Peacock venue for my birthday hoping it would be as great as the first time. Guess what? It was even greater. We had an amazing dancer performing pole dancing and some Brazilian carnival samba with her sparkling outfit and feathers. The food I ordered for my guests was plenty considering the price I paid for. The DJ played all the songs I know and made everybody from my party dance. What I hate in other venues is the lack of space. I haven't been to Peacock on Saturdays but we had plenty of space to move on Friday night. To conclude, if you want to have lots of fun, great atmosphere without going to overcrowded places where they may also rip you off why don't you try Peacock bar?The manager Karl will look after you while you are there.

Quite possibly the worst excuse for a burlesque night I have ever seen. The entertainer looked bored, and was more interested in bringing her friends on to the platform than performing for the rest of the audience. The food (apparently a buffet) was abysmal, with not enough portions for each person at the table. I also wouldn't class sausage rolls and ketchup as good quality food...

I wouldn't pay full price for this, and I probably wouldn't even pay the price that Groupon were offering it for. Definitely not somewhere I'd visit again.

Absolutely awful place, after going to 'proud' (an amazing burlesque club in London) we thought we would try another to compare. From the second we arrived (it is next door to a kebab shop) we had our doubts. As we went inside we were lead to our 'VIP' table which happened to have a couple of drunken blokes sitting at already, although they were asked to move. The 6 of us squeezed around a tiny table, half on a really low sofa and the other side on high chairs (completely uncomfortable to sit at and eat/talk!) By this point we actually found it funny how awful the place was and were looking forward to the '3 course meal' which the waitress promised would 'leave us STUFFED'There was no set meal as such just some plates of random food we had to share:Starters- a plate of raw broccoli, cauliflower and carrots to dip in hummusMain- a bowl of chips, 1 burger cut into 4 bits! Baked camembert (this was probably the best thing), microwaved pring rolls and chicken dippersDesert- platter of defrosted Iceland style deserts- not goodThe entertainment- a woman with the worst American accent I have ever heard, and a very mediocre voice doing bad karaoke for about half an hour. An old man crooning his way through some songs none of us had ever heard whilst dragging some awkward looking women on stage. So, in conclusion, do not ever go to this bar (unless you enjoy overpriced Iceland food, being cramped and listening to a bag of cats being thrown against a wall)

To be honest one star is too high.Booked a groupon deal for some friends to include "Evening of Burlesque Entertainment With Three Course Dinner, Vintage Photography Session and Nightclub Entry for £19 at The Peacock Bar " - sounds GREAT!To start, we all felt over-dressed&wondered if we were in the right place. After a while we were taken to the table, sat down awkwardly next to a dusty pulpit(?!?!?!) &waited for our "free" champagne. We paid for 6 people's food & drink but due to unfortunate circumstances our 6th member was unable to attend. As we'd paid for 6 lots of everything we still asked for what we paid for - reluctantly after asking several times we were given the 6th glass of bubbly.Sitting...sitting....sitting.....oh wait yeah dinner was supposed to be here wasn't it? Shall I tell you what we were presented with, as our three course dinner..:*Plate of a few bits of raw veg (carrot, brocolli, cauliflower, pepper &celery) and small bowl of cheese and chive dip*A slice of salami each*A burger cut into 4 pieces (had to ask for another burger to actually allow 1/4 for everyone)*A basket of chips and 5 pieces of scampi (yet we were supposed to be getting food for 6 anyway)*A few squid rings*5 small sausage rolls and ketchup*Small bowl of houmous and a heated pitta*Heated cheese and a heated pitta*4.5 chicken strips*5 small finger size spring rolls*6 profitaroles a few slices of cheesecake and some frozen blackberriesNow that might not sound too bad, but these were brought out practically a plate at at time and was NOTHING like the menu advertised on the website. I expected an actual dinner rather than frozen *christmas* "treats" from the cheapo bulk buy bag section of Aldi.Entertainment was NOT burlesque, posing girl in corset only sang 6 songs - no show - Too busy posing with the men on stage for the camera - no KERPOW. Singing man just awful too. Vintage photography - see website gallery - not a photo session as ad

I celebrated my birthday here a while ago and had a great time! We did the £19 cocktail lessons where you each get 3 different cocktails and the lesson lasts for around an hour. I can't remember the guys name but he's a blonde headed Aussie so I recommend asking for him as he was top class! We had a good laugh with him and he really knew his stuff! We then had a bite to eat and enjoyed the shows and had a dance. It got a little sweaty in there but wasn't too bad. I'd descride this place as a normal party bar in terms of the music and atmosphere but then you get the performers as an added bonus. Good night and something a little different.

A delightful experience from the time we walked in there to the time we left nothing was too much for the staff. A really great place to celebrate a hen party afternoon

We started with cocktail lessons which were heavenly and so under priced at just £19 for 3 cocktails. The very flirtatious bartender took such time over it and they have a photographer present to take pictures of you with their Chaverella cocktail (you know umbrellas, pineapple slice & sparklers… you get the idea) too.
Then it was on to cupcake & chocolate lessons except after our cocktail class it suddenly became rather hard to aim the sprinkles – luckily our teacher was very patient and even made extra cupcakes for those of us who could not quite make 8 of our own. In fact she was absolutely lovely and looked fabulously 40s in her vintage polka dot dress . Now dressing and photos are a big thing at Peacock’s and so we are were all dressed up in vintage aprons for … yes yet more photos.

The venue is very shabby chic ...you are taken back in time with everything from the staff all dressed up vintage style to the old films playing on the walls. And with so many other customers also all dressed up too it is hard not to get into the spirit of things
The high tea was soooo good! The little finger sandwiches and scones with cream and French jam..yum yum yum!

It was my sisters hen party and she loved the whole thing especially the little touches like the cupcake surprise with Happy Hen Party Hannah spelt out on the cupcakes with a flare in the centre too ( … and yes more photos) .
Now I am not quite sure young ladies in the 30s and 40s really behaved this way but who cares we loved it.

i had a GroupOn cup cake decoration and chocolate making class cost £29 for 2hrs. I think the usual cost twice the price. My friend and i both felt that this course was specifically designed for GroupOn purchases as there is no way in hell anyone would pay £60 for this course as it's not even worth the money i paid. firstly it was badly organised. the session before us ran overtime so we probably didn't start till at least 15min after the scheduled time. There was probably about 20 of us tightly huddled around a long table eager to learn how to make chocolate and decorate cupcakes for the next 2hrs.......technically none of this happened. A lady did teach us how to place an nozzle in a disposable icing bag...and for the next hour we got to practise with whatever decorating utensils was in reach. we kept our favourite 6 cupcakes that we had decorated. part 2 of the course was to transfer melted chocolate into a mould......and then wait an hour till it hardened..

So my issues are
1. I paid for a 2 hour class. i got 1 hour.
2. i can buy a icing bag myself for £10 and practise on my own...and keep the bag!
3. the icing was too runny and warm so in many cases using a nozzle was not effective
4.chocolate making is not defined as placing melting chocolate in a mould
5. too many people in the class, not enough space to work.
6. why not have the chocolate making part of the course to begin with so that while we wait for it to harden we can decorate cup cakes, Oh i know why..cos it's better for customer to have nothing to do and therefore spend money on food/drinks a the bar whilst they wait for their chocolate to harden.

i only enjoyed my time because of the friend i went there with. but i would not recommend this to anyone. Save yourself the money and organise it yourself with your friends at home.

By the way...The cupcakes tasted like s**t

I went to Peacock Bar last night for a friend's hen do and I was extremely disappointed by the management and service. After booking their "stripping bar man" and having this as one of the main incentives to hold our hen do at Peacock Bar , we were then told on arrival that the barman was feeling under the weather and wouldn't perform. We had no prior notice of this. The bar manager then proceeded to tell us that if we wanted it to happen we would need to work it out with the barmen ourselves - taking us away from the main party for a significant amount of time. In the end the bar men refused, at which point we found ourselves some helpful men who kindly agreed to do a little dance for our hen. We asked the manager if this was ok, and he refused saying the men would be thrown out if they did. All this despite agreeing to have a stripper at the venue in the first place, forcing members of the party to personally have negotiate with the bar man, and then upon finding a resolution ourselves not permitting this to go ahead - resulting in a very disappointed hen. The whole place was shambolic, the vip treatment we were told the hen would receive was completely absent significantly impacting on the night. What's more, they charged us £24 each for "dinner" which amounted to a few microwaved spring rolls and chips for all to share. We were also told it wasn't possible to provide an itemised bill which makes me doubt the credibility of the venue. I would not recommend Peacock Bar for hen dos or other celebrations - we were shockingly misled and subjected to terrible service.

Beware this place. The website advertises it as a classy seeming cabaret bar. If you're thinking Soho Revue etc - it couldn't be further from the truth.VENUE - It's a tiny, one room bar with everyone incredibly crammed in on low tables. The stage is basically a step in the corner of the room.FOOD - Forget any ideas about proper dining for the £18 per head food you have to order to guarantee your table - you just get bombarded with appalling Iceland fried finger food. No one was really interested in eating crap like that - and that amount of it - when we'd been expecting the advertised '2 course dinner'. Seriously disappointing.Don't bother ordering a cake for your friend/hen. It's another Iceland job and is unceremoniously dumped on your table.ENTERTAINMENT - 'Acts' start at about 10pm, 90 mins after you have to get there or lose your table (ie making you a captive audience for buying drinks). There is no burlesque. We had a tuneful but seriously dull male singer, and drag act Andy Winehouse who had no idea how to work the crowd and whose 20 minute set was about 18 minutes too long. That was it.Our hen went onstage to basically stand by the singer as he sang (hogging the mic) but promises of some of the other girls getting called up later never came true - which is fine, but why say it will happen - just to keep people in the club??Despite constant protestations of being 'WILD' in their email communication it was like a shit working men's club at new year's eve. The cheesy-music blaring speakers sound ready to blow up.The Peacock bar is essentially the world's most generic hen do venue, full of women (and only 2 toilets), lacklustre singers and no burlesque in sight (but then no performer worth their nipple tassles would set foot in here).Somehow the atmosphere IS good, but this is its only redeeming factor in a long catalogue of errors.Although we were determined to still have fun, I was genuinely embarrassed I'd brought people h

I had a great birthday at Peacocks. It started early and I felt a little concerned, it was light outside and empty inside, comfy low sofa's against the wall, mismatch tables and then wooden chairs. I wondered what I had let myself in for and whether it was going to work, having all my friends from different walks of life coming to make cocktails and dance the night away.

Gradually my party arrived and the cocktail lessons began. It was a great start to the party as we all had fun and got tipsy! During the lesson more people arrived and the venue filled out. Lesson over and we returned to our reserved space and proceeded to all drink and enjoy each other's company. The music was good party music so as people relaxed and the place filled out the dancing began.

The live entertainment was fun, good idea getting people on stage, perhaps could have made more of this. If you are expecting a show then you'll be disappointed, but if you just want some good entertainment between dancing then it's spot on!

Staff were friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was great and by the end of the evening the place was buzzing. The venue is suprisingly small for such character and entertainment, but somehow they manage. As always they could do with more loo's but to be honest I've been to worse loos and queued longer at bigger posher venues so I'm not complaining.

We ordered the finger food snacks and it was perfect for everyone to share and pick between guzzling cocktails.

I know I was surrounded by lots of good friends, but it really was the best birthday ever; I was able to let go of my inhibitions and have fun, and everyone around me seemed to do the same. Thank you Peacocks!

On arriving the first thing you notice is that all the staff are in white tie or evening dress and that a lot of the customers are dressed up. It is all very civilised with groups like us eating (£10 sharing plates are very good) and sipping cocktails (good too). That all changes however when the performers come onThey are very much on the wild side like a girl (forgot her name Lady something) chaining a boy to a chair whilst undressing and singing "I Want To Make Love To You" or the foul mouthed Andy Winehouse who spent most of the night accusing all the girls in the audience of being lesbians. Not exactly traditional burlesque and all the better for it.Lots of people are celebrating their birthday or hen party so the atmosphere is really raucous. Also Peacock is really into putting people on stage and the performers ad libbing which adds to the atmosphere with everyone cheering. It is also really busyAfter the shows the place basically turns into a beyond wild 70s 80s 90s dance fest with everyone totally losing itYou will love it or hate it. I loved it but don't bring your mum!

I was there on 12 aug. First there was alot e-mail contact to get on the guestlist. Contact was pretty nice. So far everything was good. Show should start at 9. We entered the bar at 8:30. The guy on the door just took a look at us. Then let us in. (why a guestlist?). The tables and chairs looked very used (not in a vintage meaning) the guys on the bar we´re stressed and the largest selection on belgian fruit beers was 1 flavor. Hmmm most of the other guests was already drunk. Nuff said I guessi thought this is a stylish place for a good extravaganz night out. Oh and btw: we´ve left at 9:20. No show in sight. After that we went to the oxo and we had a few nice cocktails. Much better there. Pardon me for the typos. I am not english

Finding the right afternoon of hen party activities when you have a biggish group (17 of us) with a couple of mums in attendance too is tricky! We did not want too much traveling (two of us are pregnant) around or anything too energetic but could not face another spa day or anything too serious or wacky (like fish pedicures uugh!). My sis recommended an afternoon at Peacock's so I booked us all in for their "Shake, Bake & Dip" chocs, cupcake & cocktails lessons with cream teas. We all had a lovely time. The venue is cute in a shabby chic way and all the staff (who were lovely) are dressed up to the nine's. Think polka dots for the girls and white tie for the boys. The classes are very much on the party tip - I do not think Gordon Ramsey need have too much to fear from us - but that is just what we wanted. The staff get you all dressed up in 40s style aprons and take photos throughout which is a nice touch plus you get these retro polka dot boxes to take your cupcakes home too. There is a wonderful atmosphere in the bar as it is chocka a block with groups doing different activities and just about everyone is dressed up so you do not feel self conscious either. All in all a lovely afternoon finished off with a scrumptious cream tea.

This may appear twice so apologies if it does. I booked my best mate's stag party at Peacock Bar last Saturday and we had a whale of a time. The bookings process is really organized and you get a huge list of options including dining (which we did), cocktail lessons (ditto), cupcake classes (bit too girly for us!)n afternoon teas and so on - you name it they do it. The place is really busy and at least half the people - especially the girls - are all dressed up. They have a host and a photographer on the night too and the whole ethos is about letting your hair down and doing stuff you would never normally dream of. It is hard not to get caught up in the swing of things. Peacock's seems to attracts lots of extrovert not to mention flirty girls who love dressing up too. People also seem come from all over - we saw a Swedish stag party all dressed up as Vikings! The burlesque and cabaret shows are great and very interactive with lots of people being dragged on stage which is hilarious. After that it a monumentally cheesy disco. They could though do with investing a few quid in air conditioning although they do have an outside drinking terrace which is open all night. I would really recommend Peacock Bar if you want a wild night out but probably not a good choice if you want a quiet romantic dinner for two, at least on Saturdays anyway. You also need to book well in advance if you want to dine. Cocktail classes are a great party option as well as being rather good value too. And dress up too.

I booked a chocolate making class and afternoon tea through a Keynoir deal for my friend's 30th birthday. There were 7 of us in total who had paid £24 each. The date and time was arranged and we all spent an hour or more travelling to Clapham, only to find the Peacock Bar was totally shut. We rang the contact number - no answer - and then rang the deliveries number on the side door, where a confused guy eventually gave me the number of the guy I'd been in contact with. I rang him to discover he was at Glastonbury festival. He said he didn't know why the bar would be shut, and rang some of the other managers, but couldn't get through to any of them. So, we all went out for lunch to somewhere that was open. In the following weeks the Peacock bar have completely ignored all my emails. Keynoir were great and refunded our money, but the Peacock Bar are a prime example of how not to treat your potential customers, although reading the other reviews on here it's probably a good thing that we weren't able to go!
Anyway, the moral of the story is, please don't waste your time or money at the Peacock Bar. And if anyone from there happens to be reading this - thanks for ruining my friend's 30th birthday, you should take some lessons from Keynoir in customer service.

Still our fave venue for a girly night out on a Friday or a Saturday plus the only place you can really dress up and not feel silly. Just wish it has a 3am licence like the Grand and maybe a few more loos!

Booked for a hen party: cocktail making, food, show and a flaming cake. I work as an events manager for a living managing over 80 events per year and this is withe worst venue I have worked with. When we arrived our table had been allocated to some other people who were running late and were still eating, and we were told we would have to wait for them to finish. Likewise with the cocktail making lessons some other groups were running late so there was no space for us to do our lessons at the bar. The food was terrible - certainly not worth the £18 per head that they charge - there was not enough to eat, it was poor quality (most of it was deep fried, Icleand type stuff), came out late and the staff clear away the plates before you have had a chance to finish. The website claims thir chef "Gianluca" is an ex chef at Shoreditch house.... I am pretty sure anyone from Shoreditch House would be mortified by this - or maybe that's why he is an ex chef! The crowd was awful too, not a very friendly crowd at all, probably because the bar management kept moving everyone to different tables all night. I would definitely avoid, it is not worth ruining someone's big night (hen night, birthday etc) by going here - seriously go anywhere else in London and it will be miles better guaranteed!

If I could, I would give this a Nil star rating. Alarm bells started to ring when a couple of days before, our organiser for the hen do was asked to pay cash because the card machine was going slow! Here goes: venue is too small for the number of people crammed in there and not much more than the ground floor of a large houses, only not as clean, comfortable or welcoming and any success for the night can only be attributed to keeping a positive mental attitude despite the cattle market approach that was taken with the attendees. It is almost like, having bagged a lucrative venue in London, the minimum expenditure, imagination and expertise has been exploited to turn a fast buck. I agree with all Natasha said; in addition, the 'burlesque' show was quite entertaining but as the place was crowded and the pole dancer was not elevated on a stage, in order to get the floor cleared, those standing in the vicinity were virtually pushed away by the manager (when in fact we were supposed to be seated but our seats had been sneakily given to some other group whilst we got up to make cocktails) and it was only when the dancer was up on the pole you could hope to get a peak (she was pretty good though). Furthermore, there was another entertainer, whom we never saw or even knew anything of at the time, as she was hidden in a far corner. Staff did make some effort but I blame the manager, stressed, pouring with sweat and emitting bad breath (bless!) who was pretty rude to his paying guests, fobbing us off all the time about getting us a table (we were moved 3 times as it was totally overbooked and in the end one had to be more insistent and argue with other groups in the same unfortunate situation as ourselves). Quite frankly the manager was better suited to managing an illegal abattoir than the falsely claimed wonderful cocktail bar! I hope our experience was a one-off and that maybe your own is far more memorable for all the right reasons. DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT!

We organised a birthday party night here and it was such a good night! We were there last Saturday too so am very surprised to see the bad review below. We all honestly had a brilliant time and loved the performers! Anyway, I booked our area in advance over the phone and everything was confirmed by email. The booking process was straight forward and easy although there was a lot of info to take in. We arrived before the 8.30pm cut off point as agreed and got an are in the corner or the bar so didn't have alot of people to passing to go to the loo etc etc. We received the 2 course platters promised and the flaming champagne for the birthday girl. Food was basic but there was lots of it for everyone. The music was good cheesey music that you could dance to. As we were in the corner of the bar away from the dance floor we ended up dancing on the furniture and none of the staff told us off which was brill. Seems like anything goes in Peacock Bar ! We all had lots of fun!
