The ViewLondon Review
Tapping into the market for laidback bars with a bit of an edge, Pitcher and Piano is fabulous for young hotshots who want a relaxed cocktail session. The VenueSimplicity and sleekness are key to the decor of this Pitcher and Piano. Similar to its counterparts, chic cream, woods, brown and reds blend to create a contemporary venue that feels a bit generic. But, unlike the rest of the chain, this particular branch is huge - set over two floors with endless space, allowing it to be a bit more creative with the decoration. Quirky modern light fixtures adorn various parts of the ceiling, and there are many interesting separated areas, each with a slightly different use of light and colours creating various moods for clientele to enjoy.
The AtmosphereThis Pitcher and Piano is popular with London’s cool, sophisticated crowd, for when they don’t want to glam up but still wish to hang out in a chic atmosphere. A good balance of large groups and fun couples fill up the place in the evenings, meaning there’s always a vibrant buzz, but without any stuffiness of some cocktail bars. The friendly bar staff make you feel at ease as you sip you drink, and the atmosphere stays sociable even in off peak times.
The DrinkPitcher and Piano has a bit of fun with its cocktails - not taking themselves too seriously by using extremely expensive ingredients, but still creating a good blend of flavours. Classics like the mojito and martini are, of course, available but some unique, mostly fruit inspired, cocktails are refreshing and delicious. With lots of naughty and nice shots to get the party started, there’s a upheld element of fun with drinking here. There are also plenty of affordable wines and a decent choice of swish spirits - namely vodka - to keep all the Londoners happy. However, it’s really the cocktails that take centre stage here.
The Last WordThis Pitcher and Piano is straightforward bar with a pleasant vibe, and some dashes of uniqueness that separate it from the rest.
