Amongst the many other pubs in Forest Hill, Question Bar may not immediately steal your eye, but once inside, the family atmosphere is sure to win you over.

The Venue
Conveniently located on busy Dartmouth Road, not far from Forest Hill station, Question Bar provides a friendly, family atmosphere to unwind in. The place is filled with mismatched sofas, mirrors and uncoordinated lampshades, almost giving the impression of separate areas within one large space. The vast windows to the front of the bar let in lots of light before sun down, and allow you to keep an eye on what’s going on outside.

The Atmosphere
Question Bar is full of friends relaxing over a few drinks, as well as families enjoying a freshly prepared meal together. The atmosphere is one of a friend’s home; relaxed and low maintenance. On entering the bar, a table full of board games gives the impression that this is a place to have fun, for children and big kids alike.

The Drink
Question Bar has a large drinks menu, dominated by their cocktails. They serve up classics such as mojitos, mai tais and cosmopolitans, as well as some with an added twist. Cocktails range in price from £6.95 to £9.95 but are 2-for-1 all-day on Thursday and Friday, and between 5pm and 8pm any other day. If you’re more of a wine drinker, you may be disappointed. The list is limited and non-specific but reasonably priced for the area, with a bottle of house white costing £14.25. For the beer drinkers there’s a little more choice, with a range of lagers from Corona to Peroni, at £3.40 a bottle, as well as cider and Guinness on tap.

The Food
Question Bar cooks up a whole range of fresh food right on the premises but names their Caribbean menu and stone baked pizzas as their specialties. For £12.95 you can enjoy any of their starters (try the breaded prawns or jerk chicken wings), plus one of their traditional Caribbean dishes, such as stewed chicken with rice. Or if you’re more into Italian than Caribbean, opt for one of their freshly prepared stone baked pizzas.

The Last Word
Question Bar is run by friendly staff and is a great local to meet friends or treat family. Definitely a place to try if you’re in the area.
