The ViewLondon Review
Anyone fancy thirty different flavours of vodka, a great cocktail selection and hot food brought to your table? Then make a trip to Revolution Bar Soho for a night on the town.
The Venue
Tucked away in the side street of St Anne’s Court, Revolution Bar Soho - aka Vodka Rev’s - is a great bar to spend time in with friends. As you enter, the dark leather sofas and raised seating area provide enough space for yourself and more then a few friends. The bar stretches across the whole length of the venue and is wonderfully decorated with dozens of vodka bottles, preparing you for what’s in store.
The Atmosphere
Revolution Bar Soho is great for all occasions, offering a good venue to host a lunchtime meeting, or a relaxed environment at the end of a busy week. On busy Friday and Saturday nights, expect to find the West End’s party people exchanging numbers over an exciting variety of flavoured vodka.
The knowledgeable bar staff are always keen to help and must be some of the most attractive, young party people in London. The dress code is relaxed; jeans are ok but no caps, trainers or football shirts are allowed. There is a booking service available, which is a good idea if you’re coming with a group of over ten as it can get quite crowded.
The Food
The menu has a good selection of starters, mains, desserts and even a low carb alternative for those watching their waist line. Mains start at around £6.95 and lunch time sandwiches at around £4.95. As with everything in Revolution Bar Soho, there are deals available for anything.
The burgers can be quite massive so make sure you arrive on an empty stomach. A delicious choice is the Ranch Burger, smothered with Monterey Jack cheese, home cured back bacon and barbecue sauce, with vine ripened tomatoes, baby gem lettuce leaves and mayo. There are also options for sharing including an Oriental platter consisting of duck spring rolls and teriyaki chicken, and a Mediterranean based platter, each costing £9.95. The desserts consist of only three choices, which let the menu down a bit, but this is not a bar for chocolate cake, it’s a bar for vodka.
The Drink
This really is where the fun starts. First take your pick from thirty different types of vodka. Some of the flavours are a bit weird and wonderful, for example Parma violet and chilli, but this all just adds to the fun. All are served frozen and can be bought in singles or 15 for £10. For those who know the difference between their Zubrowka and Wyborowa, expect to find all your favourites here and more, they even offer an overproof vodka from South East Europe called Balkan which comes in at a whopping 88 per cent proof.
The cocktails are also great and are all based – unsurprisingly - on vodka. All are made with fresh ingredients and are presented exquisitely. Try the raspberry mojito mixed and shaken to perfection. Another alternative are the Kruska cocktails made from Revolution Bar Soho’s own flavoured vodka. Long cocktails start at around £6.95 and Kruska’s around £4.95. There is also the usual draft lager for sale such as Carlsberg and 1664 as well as a premium Polish beer, Okocim coming in at 5.7 per cent stronger than Stella at 5.2 per cent.
The Last Word
Great for any occasion, Revolution Bar Soho has an incredible party atmosphere at the weekend and a chilled out vibe during the week. Book a table with friends to enjoy a quality night out.
