We ate here earlier this week. The restaurant was empty and I can understand why. I ordered Ackee and Saltfish and was presented with a tiny bowl which was not even half full. Tasty but what a miserable portion for over £10 I think. My guest ordered the Curried chicken which was a better portion but still very mean for the price. The fish cakes starters were average and certainly not homemade. What a rip off restaurant...such a shame as the music was excellent...the service was unfriendly and requesting the Creole veggie dish with some chicken added was too much to ask for! Never again...

Love it here, and have been a fair few times now! Used to swear by Banners (restaurant just up from Rhythm) Jerk chicken but Rhythm blows it out of the water. I have sample 3 of the mains here (goat curry, jerk chicken, & chicken stew/casserole) and all taste fantastic. The starters are also lush, the plantain chips and chili mayo have this lovely seasoning which is great, the bbq wings are amazing and fall of the bone, Jerk Chicken rolls also to die for. Ok, so these are the underlying things that make Rhythm in my option awesome, the staff, really helpful, the owners and so nice, welcome you in, open the door when you leave, the meat falls off the bone, lovely flavors. Oh and the cocktails and really quite fab also and I am massively critical of cocktails. Good choice of Caribbean bottled beers too. The ambiance is just right too! Toilets are clean, well the gents anyway, they wouldn't let me in the ladies, lol. One little thing as a draw back. Portion sizes. More meat please, and just ever so slightly less rice. I always leave full but sometimes wish I had more. Prices:starters - just shy of 5poundsmains - all just shy of 10poundscocktails - all just shy of 6pounds (i think)recommended highly! Going tonight actually.

We 5 visited Rhythm last Saturday. The staff were eager to please, other patrons were pleasant. Music was more Latin than Caribbean but tasteful. The cocktail menu was unusual and the ones we ordered tasted great. Food was excellent. Main dishes were well known West Indian favourites. The Jerk chicken spring roll was very special..........we loved that. We are looking forward to another outing..........Well done you guys.

Phil,

First of all let me commend you for your reply to my review of Rhythm. It is very easy for restaurant owners and managers to turn a blind eye to the experiences of customers.

While I do not appreciate your comments related to the internet being at times a "breeding ground for frustrated writers and wannabes who don't actually think about what harm there over zealous commentary and exaggerations can cause to a small business" I can understand your frustration when reading a negative review. To clarify, I not only work in Digital Marketing, and own my own business but have been an active contributor to review sites such as Tripadvisor and Toptable for many years. Bottom line, I do have to establish my credibility for the contents of the review. While it might have been an isolated event, it is one that can be learned from.

In all honesty, I would have loved for my first experience at Rhythm to have been a positive one. I do not get any joy from posting less than outstanding feedback.

More importantly and to the point, your response and attention to my review will tempt me back to Rhythm. I do appreciate your feedback and hope that Rhythm continues to deliver best value and consistent Caribbean food experiences.
