This place is great!
I had my birthday drinks (with 15 others), and the staff really looked after us - we felt so special! They reserved an area for us and brought out a surprise bottle of champagne to celebrate! I even received birthday wishes from the owner. Drinks are great and the music is a great mix. It's nice to go to a bar where the the staff (and people) aren't pretentious, and just genuinely want you to have a good time! Well done Rinky Dink!!
Love this place, i've being going back regularly since i had my birthday party there in September. The staff are always super friendly, the DJ's play really good music, perfect saturday night really. Love the decor as well super funky !!!
Had my birthday party at Rinky Dink last year and I have been a regular ever since!!
Nice and relaxed during the week with great pizzas and chilled out music..
But really comes into its own at the weekend, great place to go with a group of mates and let your hair down....
A cut above all the chain bars on the high street..
Rinky Dink is a really cool little bar on Clapham High Street. Usually go there on Fridays or Saturdays. Good crowd, nice doorstaff, and bar staff are all fit! The decor is really funky and i love the leather sofas. Its probably one of the best on the high street actually. If your after good music, friendly crowd and a bit of a boogie this is your place.
Been my friends and i favorite bar in Clapham for the last 12 months. Its got that cool shabby-chic feel about it, definitely an independant rather than a chain. Its really busy on fridays and saturdays but the staff work flat and are always super friendly. Great D\j's on the weekend. Probably a perfect a place for a birthday or leaving do. Never had any probs with the bar staff like the person below, its 2 for 1 cocktails on fridays i think, so thats why you may of waited a while, but hey 2 drinks for the price of 1 who cares !!! Highly Recommened.
I was there for the first time this weekend, arrived at 9pm on Friday for a friend's birthday. I waited at the bar for 20 minutes, in 3 to 4 deep people, whilst we all watched rounds of cocktails being made by rather unenthusiastic staff at the cramped bar. I got served, ordered the first two beers of my night, and when I got my change had this conversation:
Me: Thanks - I reckon you guys would make more money if you didn't serve cocktails.
Him: What do you mean?
Me: I'm talking about helping the turnover of people at the bar.
Him: And what do you know about running a bar?
Me: I'm just trying to help with an idea to stop customers being at the bar for so long.
Him: You're a dickhead.
Me: Sorry buddy, just trying to help.
Lovely.
Rinky Dinky is my fave bar in Clapham because it has the best atmophere and really funky decor. Drinks wise lots of cocktails, nothing spectacular but if you like simply made drinks like mojitos you wont find better in Clapham. The staff are all friendly and always make an effort. Id say this is the perfect place for a birthday party, in fact I'm having mine here next month!
The music was okay but why then use the screens to display one of those phone in and vote music channels, nonsensical in my opinion. Is it because they think their clientele don’t have enough brain power to do anything more than stare at the pretty pop stars.
Talking of brain power, the bar staff aren’t exactly on the ball, the cocktails were appalling and even at two for one they are overpriced and badly thought out. Even the standard ones such as the mojito are just badly made.
It’s a lazy bar that does well because its more pretentious than anything in that part of Clapham. If I were you I would go towards the common.
If you are looking to reserve an area for a birthday or celebration you won't go far wrong with Rinky Dink. They have great DJs, excellent service and a good drinks list.
Rinky Dink is definitley recomended.
I and two friends held our birthday party at Rinky Dink this weekend. It was absolutely wonderful. A few of us started the night with one of their amazing pizzas which were so generously sized that none of us could finish them.
We had a reserved area and the staff were really good at making people aware that it was for our party only. They even removed one man, which I thought was really god service.
Everyone there had a great night and would definitely go back. Plus the decor at Rinky Dink was funky, cool and very different to anything I've seen - I loved it.
I have been to Rinky Dink twice in the past week. It looks cool and funky from the outside and is always packed at the weekend -so I assumed it would be a good night out.
The bar seems to be a bit confused with what it wants to be, the decor is cross between kitch and my nan's living room and the staff do not seem that interested in the clientele. The choice of music at Rinky Dink is funky house but the cocktails leave a lot to be desired. They are way to sweet and seem light on the alcohol content.
They do offer happy hour deals on both the cocktails and food on different days of the week. Cocktails outside of this deal are £5.95 on average. The food is pizza/pasta and the chef was as dirty as the plates the food was served on!
I would go back to Rinky Dink, but only for a drink to start off my night out. It's not somewhere I could stay all night. However, they do have a sex toy vending machine out back - awesome!
Rinky Dink is not for everyone in Clapham (thank god!) but if you like funky places with staff that actually talk too you, then this is your place. The cocktails are good, I've had better and had worse, but hey its not the West End.
The music at Rinky Dink is always cool at the weekends. It's not the flashiest place, but the sofas are wicked and you are always made to feel welcome and that's what its all about.
Bit bemused by the reviews, they were probably written by the type of people that give Clapham a bad name.
I don’t usually write reviews for bars and restaurants but after seeing this for my fave bar in Clapham I had too. I can only assume the other reviews are by some internet trolls or likewise.
I’ve been going to Rinky Dink for two years and I can honestly say its the most friendly bar in Clapham, the drinks are great, and the staff are brilliant. It’s always packed at the weekend so it can’t be that bad. Anyway big up Rinky Dink the decent people of Clapham love you.
Rinky Dink is up there competing for the title of worst bar of the year. It was truly awful. Rinky Dink has insipid drinks and arrogant staff aplenty - stay away.
Rinky Dink is a terrible bar. I am gutted that I have to give it one out of five. I went with two friends mid-week and we were harassed by a huge, bald regular who swore at all of us and tried to start a fight. I'm not going back. Rinky Dink is crap.
I went to the Rinky Dink this weekend and it is one of the worst bars I've ever been in. It was full of weird people, including a freaky old man on his own (obviously a regular too) who decided to keep putting his middle finger up at me & my girlfriends!
As for the previous post, I had a Rinky Dink cocktail and it is honestly the worst cocktail I've ever had. It tasted purely of syrup, not alcohol and we left without drinking them! Don't waste your time at Rinky Dink when there are so many other great places in Clapham. I don't normally do these reviews but it was so awful that I felt I had too!
Great time had last weekend at Rinky Dink, quite small but full of really nice people, bar staff really good, GREAT COCKTAILS! You have to try the RINKY DINK DRINK! Lots of sofas, open late, defo going back!
