Fairly good live music. 1 star only, however, as the security guard made a very serious mistake, was stubborn and promised to punch me if I continued to ask for the manager because he was 'a professional'. If I were the owner, I would fire the guy on the spot. The crowd was pretty rough, too.

Roughest bar in Islington?

Went there with my girlfriend to watch some live music. The band was good but the crowd was pretty rough. I asked the bloke on the table next to me if he could stop talking over the music and his Irish dad his said he can do what he liked and if I didnt like it he would put my girlfriends head though the window.

Told this to another Travelling Irishman behind the bar who said he didnt care.

We left.

I am the owner of 'Round Midnight and am very sorry to hear of your experience at our bar.
We pride ourselves on being one of the friendliest venues in town and do not tolerate rude or aggressive behavior in any way whatsoever.
I will take up your complaint with the relevant staff member and if you were to come back, I'd personally buy you a drink to apologize.

Every once in a blue moon, I guess you could describe the crowd as 'rough'- like any bar, you never know who'll come in each night but in the two and a half years we've been open, the vast majority of our nights have been full of gregarious, friendly customers that come to our venue not only to listen to the live bands but to meet new people, share a drink together and have a bit of a boogie!
I totally understand why you'd write the review you did but I sincerely hope you give us another try

Am a big fan of Round Midnight. I've been an Islington local for 5 years now and in my opinion, the area's been crying out for a place like this. I think the Viewlondon reviewer got it just right- this is a no-frills venue, pretty sparse and what you see is what you get. It's not trying to be anything it isn't. The place is clean, the drinks are well made and of a high standard and the bar staff are very friendly to boot! I've been their quite a few times now. I can't say I've enjoyed every band I've seen there but I'm glad that there's a place that's prepared to push a few boundaries. So far I've seen a New Orleans Jazz band, a Jamaican Funk Band, lots of terrific Blues bands and a virtuoso acoustic guitarist playing solo and not even singing. Keep it up!

What a find! I've been an Islington local for 6 years now and always steered clear of this pub.

When they changed the name, I went in one Saturday night and saw an amazing Blues band.

Liked it so much I went back the next week. Not too many beers to speak of (but it is a small place) but had a good pint of Deuchers IPA.

The food was very good but not too much choice either.

Just what this area needs! 5 stars

I went last night to see some live music, unbearably hot in there and staff were rude. I'm afraid it did not live up to expectations.

It was very hot- spoke to the boss who said that the air con's being installed next week.

I loved it personally- the band were brilliant and I found the staff to be really nice.

Went there last weekend and saw 2 of the best shows of my life!

This is a stunning and very intimate bar and the atmosphere during the gigs was electric. Will DEFINITELY be going back
