The ViewLondon Review

StarStarStarStarStar
Review byElaine Burke12/09/2007
A rose amongst the thorns, elegant and refreshing, Ruby Grand stands aside from its lowly neighbours and offers a sanctuary from the banality that is King Street.

The Venue
The classic decor and furnishings of Ruby Grand remain true to its Georgian roots and compliment the architecture effortlessly. With well-planned sections, there is a room for every need. A bright and spacious morning room, ideal for business lunches or Sunday Brunch; a relaxed bar, for those after work drinks; and spacious conservatory dining room that opens onto a substantial walled garden ideal for those alfresco summer nights.

The Atmosphere
The mood is carefully monitored and subtle adjustments are continuously made throughout the day to maintain a relaxed and mellow ambience. Lilting music tinkers softly in the background and as the natural light fades; candles are tenderly lit and left to burn gently into the night.

The Food
Presenting home cooked gastro pub meals, utilising the freshest of ingredients and simplest of recipes keeping in line with the tradition of typical pub served food, the higher prices at Ruby Grand result in much higher quality dishes that are great value for money.

The food is simply fantastic, mouth-watering course after mouth-watering course, the facile menu offers up a varied selection of seemingly simple dishes created with care and with the finest fresh ingredients fused together to create culinary delights. Be it a quick snack to accompany drinks, a light lunch or a relaxed evening meal, the varying menu of Ruby Grand is ready to offer a taste for every need.

The Drink
There is a good selection of regular bar drinks, including cocktails, plus an extensive wine list, and the knowledgeable waiting staff are on hand to provide sound recommendations to compliment your meal.

The Last Word
Pub grub at it’s best; home cooking at it’s finest. It’s not just food; it’s Ruby Grand food.
