Came down to London last week for a few days with my wife and discovered the Samuel Pepys bar just yards from our hotel. It's a nice place and fairly cheap for a pint with helpful bar staff but, being a Scotsman I can't understand why the bars in the area do not take advantage of the new extended licensing laws. Enjoyed our visit to Mayfair and very pleased with the hospitality in the Samuel Pepys bar.

Samuel Pepys is full of East-end builders and lots of swearing. Football nights at Samuel Pepys are awful. "Are you looking at my pint?"

Have tried Samuel Pepys at lunchtimes. First time was great, food was cheap, atmosphere good and efficient service. Next two times were ok, but the service was slow as they were busy. Samuel Pepys has lots of tourists flooding in. The bar man with the pony tail is very funny.
