Delicious pies which actually have a pastry base - a rarity these days. It gets busy for tables at lunchtime so definitely book in advance. Agree the atmosphere can be lacklustre but as long as you can make your own entertainment and you're with a good crowd, you can overlook it. I've not been in the evening so I cannot comment as an after-work venue.

The bar is friendly and the food is good value We used Shooting Star for my 50th party, it was fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone who is wanting a venue that is easily reached by everyone. The bar staff were amamzing and Chris the landlord couldn't have been nicer even when we managed to break a lamp dancing on the tables! They made us very welcome and the basement bar was perfect for dancing the night away thanks again!

The Shooting Star is a reasonable place to meet and eat near Liverpool Street Station. Though I have to say that The Shooting Star lacks a little character.

The Shooting Star is a cosy little pub in the commuter zone. It's always really busy at lunchtimes and during the day with lots of suites. The Shooting Star is usually dead in the evenings, but a good place despite that. The bar staff is really good.
