I was very excited when I read the reviews and phoned to book a table for 5 of us.

They offered me one at 7.30 instead of 8.00 o'clock that I wanted, and told me that they would charge £20 per person on my credit card if we didn't turn up.

What a stupid rule! Why would I book if we didn't intend to go? Why should I pay £100 if something like an accident unexpected happen?

If they are so fully booked, they would have no problem filling the table by the customers who turn up without reservation.

Sadly I decided it is just too fussy for me and we decided to eat elsewhere.

I had a drink here at the bar on Saturday night with my boyfriend. It was very warm and welcoming atmosphere.

We were served immediately at the bar by a very competent barman. I had a non alcoholic cocktail which was quite expensive at £5 but it was very worth it.

We did not eat here but I would like to. The view is lovely, overlooking the river and the people are friendly.

The only bad point was that the alcoholic drinks are about £10 each and the food is probably expensive.

Also one of the waitresses over charged me by £4.50 as she thought I had had the alcohol version of my cocktail.

I felt petty mentioning it but as it was already expensive i didnt want to pay the extra for a drink i did not have.

It is a stones throw away from the London eye though so perfect location really for tourists.

I've not been to Skylon yet (I'm not even sure that it's open) but my chef friend is getting extremely excited! Apparently they've got one of his heroes knocking up a few dishes and if it's good enough for him then I'm game. Does anyone know when it will be opening? Or is it already?!
