What an amazing experience! We did not have much time before going to see a show, but the waiter put a priority on our order and we managed even to have a dessert. Peanut butter cheesecake is absolute must when visiting Smollensky's. The happy hour cocktail are absolutely delicious and very affordable. I would recommend Smollensky's and I will be going again myself soon.

Went for dinner at Smollenskys last night with a group of friends for a Xmas night out. I will not be returning. The service was abysmal. I asked how the scallops had been caught (a reasonable question in 2009?) and was told 'Scallops are scallops', and other nonsensical answers - they treated me as if I'd just asked if dog was on the menu.

When the food did arrive, the burgers were tasty but a tad underdone so some meat had to be left, and my friend ordered chicken wings which were a vile color and looked inedible. On the plus side, the manager was friendly and there was a good atmosphere but our entire experience was hampered by the staff's attitude.

What a disappointment. The menu is rather sparse to say the least, although to give them their due, the food was decent. The service on the other hand was quite definitely the worst I have ever experienced in London. Our rude and unhelpful waitress even left one order off and was neither apologetic nor bothered by the fact. The manager was extremely pleasant and gave us that dish on the house, but even the bar staff were rude. I suggest they implement some kind of customer service training.

Smollenskys is wickedI had my hen party there. Staff was very friendly from beginning to the end of our brilliant night out.

Cocktails- you have to taste to understand, very testy and quick service. If you thinking of good hen night, have to be Smollenskys on The Strand.

Bride to be :)

We recently went to Smollenskys, they have decided to transform the old stage into a VIP party area, we had around 60 guests for our virthday celebration, we had our own waiter, an absolute gorgeous area set up with helium balloons, candles, giant vases of flowers..

..mind you we didnt even ask they just did this for us, we were blown away by how wonderful our area looked..

..definately not something you get very often these days!!

We ordered canapes and nibbles, the food was delicious hot and arrived on time!

All our guests have been raving at what was an incredible night....plus the icing on the cake was our free Magnum of Prosecco for booking..

...now thats customer service!! Definately give this place a try, the new manager is brilliant!

Had a great meal here in July for my daughter's 13th birthday. It was an early sitting as we were off to see a show afterwards, but the minute we arrived, we were made to feel welcome - the balloons around the table added to the enjoyment of the occasion. The food was great and all the kids enjoyed starters, mains and desserts. The two younger kids had great little party bags which kept them occupied in-between courses. The additional 'sparkler' and a rendition of Happy Birthday also went down a treat! Timings were spot on and we left in plenty of time to get to the theatre on time. We would highly recommend this restaurant to friends and family in the future.

We did not enjoy our experience at Smollenskys restaurant - we felt it was more like a TFGF - the burgers were a serious let down and the service was slow and unhelpful. Maybe a couple in their 40's are not welcome? It was full of hen parties - we were led to believe it would be a good fun jazz club, which it wasn't! :-(

Since my last visit that went pretty poorly in most respects Smollensky's on the Strand did something that most bars wouldn't, namely invite me back to discuss the events of that fateful evening! Some praise must go to Smollensky's on the Strand for a quite unexpected invite to return and talk with a senior member of staff about what happened that night (see earlier review), all this whilst enjoying complimentary food and drink.

A warm reception was afforded to us and since that meeting the bar menu has been reviewed to take into consideration our comments on the value for money of many of the choices on offer and questions asked about the very poor level of service we received.

This has gone some way to make up for the bad experience of my last visit but the odd question still remains, why the design of the stage if not to have live acts perform on it? Aside from this Smollensky's on the Strand has always been a top venue with stylish decor and the restaurant has always been good value for money and most importantly great food.

Definitely give Smollensky's a try it's one of few central London venues we return to, and post a review, it's worth the effort!

Smollensky's on the Strand leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Having visited the restaurant after the refit I returned for some birthday drinks, and sadly my second visit overshadowed what had previously been a good experience. I can recommend the restaurant, which has very good food and is quite good value for money with good service.

The fish cakes were £2.00 each and no bigger than a £2 coin, this plus the prawns and chicken, which, including a service charge, came to a grand total of £20.00. My friend ordered a bowl of chips, and after 20 minutes they hadn't turned up so he asked the waitress where they were. She insinuated that he was lying and hadn't actually ordered any chips. We won't be returning to Smollensky’s on the Strand.

The food at Smollenskys on the Strand is pretty tasty - good steaks and very nice desserts! My last visit to Smollenskys was marred slightly though as we were right next to a smoker.
