My family ducked in here after a tour of Parliament. I ordered a Tanglefoot Ale to go along with my Tanglefoot Steak and Ale Pie. Absolutely delicious! Service, ale, food and atmosphere -- all spot on. Highly recommended.

I am reluctant to give the place even one star ! My wife and I went to this place on Tuesday 24th August 2010 for a meal. We had previously (3 years ago) had a very nice meal in this establishment and thought it would be nice to visit again as we were in London for a few days.

I ordered the gourmet burger and my wife decided upon the chicken and bacon burger. Usual wait for the food and it was delivered as soon as it was hauled up on the dumb waiter.

Both meals came with chips, the chips were cold. They had been cooked but had stood for a long time and were totally cold. My burger was luke warm at best, my wifes chicken burger was totally tasteless and cold.

When "Management" were informed of this, they played dumb. Certainly they offered to have the meal sent back to be re-heated but why should you have to put up with a re-heated meal when food is supposed to be hot in the first place?

Will I be going back ? No. There was no offer of a refund or a replacement meal, just they offer to reheat something which should have been hot in the first place.

Management did not wish to know about the complaints, they couldn't care less. Avoid this place and get some hot food elsewhere.

This used to be a nice place but since the new management have taken over it has just been awful

the food is always late the staff are always talking and you have to almost stand on the bar to be noticed..

..also they stay open when drains are leaking
I can't believe they are still open.....Avoid!!

The St Stephens Tavern is an absolute gem if you're in Westminster. It's very plush yet still traditional, with a good selection of drinks (especially the beers on tap). The prices aren't amazingly cheap but you know, this is central London - you've got to expect these things. Al in all, if you fancy a very nice pub to have a drink in then try St Stephens Tavern.

St Stephens Tavern is the perfect place to get a delicious fry up that's considerably better than your average greasy spoon! If you've got a hangover and need a hearty breakfast then i can definitely recommend St Stephens Tavern as it certainly got rid of the horrific pain I was in!
