Great atmosphere, friendly staff, very good food, table football. Everything you expect is there.
Really love the Stapleton Tavern!
Sunday lunch was nice and the service was super friendly - recommend!
I've had a meal in The Stapleton twice in the last few weeks, and both times food delicious and service friendly and attentive.
Whenever i go in for a drink, the bar staff are really friendly and chatty. Ive wandered in on my own while waiting for a friend (something, as a woman, im not always comfortable doing) and feel completely comfortable sitting at the bar, with no pressure to order a drink immediately. Very refreshing.
Also, the place looks great after the refurb. Love the pics of the queen!
Whilst I tend to alternate my drinking in this area between the Stapleton, Old Dairy and the Fullback, The Stapleton has become my favourite of late. Has come on leaps and bounds since the dark days of the Larrik, best staff in the area who, on the whole, know what they're talking about, and even when its busy I've always found a seat.
Got to say I've had a couple of dodgy meals in there previously but the last couple of months its been much, much better. And they play old 50s rock n roll! Shame about lack of garden, that would complete this place.
Buzzy atmosphere and friendly staff. Great food - particularly recommend the scallops and black pudding with cauliflower puree for starters.

The Stapleton still hasn't involved from its Larrik days.
Shifty clientele, a horrible odour staff who are more interested in gossiping than doing work.
Save yourself the energy and cross the street to either the quaint Noble or the wonderful Old Dairy across the street.
Hopefully someone will but the Stapleton and turn it around.
Can't agree with the below, food isn't up to scratch and decor is odd - goats skulls on the walls... Was so cold that we didn't take our coats off. Beers are good though, staff indifferent.
Would rather head 5 mins up the road to the Noble: warm, friendly and better food.
Stapleton Tavern has come on leaps and bounds from what it used to be! Warm, prompt service from the staff. The place looks fantastic, great music and the face-lift has definitely done its job of deterring the scumbags that used to frequent Stapleton Tavern. Cant agree with the below comments on the food as it is awesome and totally worth a go, again great service (plates cleared in under a minute, food piping hot, staff asking if everything was ok, big smiles all round)loving that my local is now a pleasant place to visit and not up its own ass like the diary/noble - a very happy medium. Please keep it up guys!
I completely agree with the above, theyre turning it around. We came in and had a few beers, Desperados no less, chilled out, chatted and listened to some great tunes. The atmosphere is completely different and there are no W**k*rs anymore, brilliant! Roll on the relaunch party!
I went to The Larrick tonight, sorry, The Stapleton Tavern and had a great time! The music was brilliant and they've got a Fussball table which is fantastic! I havent been in ages coz it was such a dive but theyve actually made an effort, theyve started giving it a facelift and it looks good. The staff, Beth and Ali were great and will actually serve you rather than try and flirt with Albanians to get drinks bought!? The new manager Ed is great and can't do enough for you. Its such a change already and Ed said they are far from finished so I am looking forward to seeing what they are going to do! Good luck guys!
