Conveniently located just a stone’s throw from Wimbledon train station and in the midst of numerous bars and pubs, this venue provides a great hang-out for those looking for a well-made cocktail in SW19.

The Venue
The layout inside is relatively straightforward; the main space is dotted with couches and chairs and the walls are lined with framed photos of customers enjoying previous nights at Suburban. To the rear of the venue is a small but charming beer garden decorated with floral features and quirky wooden and rope tables, great for those sunny afternoons.

The Atmosphere
There is a really chilled out vibe here and many patrons are locals and regulars, a testament to the good drinks and friendly staff. The bar manager is a competent mixologist to say the least and the equally friendly bar team happily rustle up the cocktails this bar is famed for. The music varies night to night but midweek tunes will likely include some nostalgia-inducing rock, alongside some newer tracks that help to create a relaxed ambience with a little more soul than your average chain bar.

The Drink
Its cocktails, cocktails, cocktails here, so you won’t be disappointed by the selection nor the execution. There are girly cocktails, manly cocktails, fruity cocktails and creamy cocktails; there really is something for everyone. Happy hour is 5-8pm, Tuesday-Sunday, when you can get 2-4-1 cocktails (usually £6.90 each) making Suburban a winner for some good value after-work drinks. There are some great fruity concoctions that use ingredients like passion fruit, mango, lychee, strawberry and peach and, for those looking for an indulgent dessert cocktail, the Coco Crème, made with coconut crème, chocolate liqueur and Smirnoff vodka, is a silky golden liquid that quite literally slips down the throat.

The Last Word
Suburban Bar and Lounge offers reasonably priced, good quality cocktails served up by friendly and unpretentious staff.
