Last Monday we went for a dinner to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. Quite simply the food was amazing and the wine list spectacular. The service was friendly, attentive, genuine and professional. The deal available was the icing on the cake!!..

Went to Tamarai last night and had one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had the misfortune to suffer. We were part of a large party and had been told in advance that we would therefore have to have the set menu. No problems, fair enough for a large group.

Due to some late arrivals we were not ready for our meals until 8:30 or so when some of us were given some of the starters, dim sum and duck spring roll. Not bad tasting although the portions were quite small. About half an hour later more starters were brought to our table, it turned out these were actually meant for the other table that was part of our group sitting right behind us who had not been served during that time. We had already eaten about half of these but the waiting staff didn't bother to top them up or bring new ones and gave them straight to the other table who had to take what were now half portions.

Roughly an hour after this (ie an hour and a half after being served our starters) the mains were finally brought out. Whilst I am told the seabass was actually quite nice the thai green curry was overly hot and there was not nearly enough rice to share properly between people.

Another hour or so after the mains had been cleared away we were brought the dessert, some sort of white chocolate ice cream which was tasty enough but quite frankly was at most enough for three quarters of a mouthful.

The fact that it took approximately three hours to be "served" a three course meal where everyone at the table was having one of three choices at most off a set menu was absolutely appalling. In particular for the mains where the three choices were the seabass, a thai green chicken curry or a thai green vegetable curry, the last two of which were presumably cooked up en masse. The starters and the dessert would also have been cooked up en masse so there was no excuse whatsoever for the length of time it took to get our meals.

This was while enduring one of the more overpriced

Very pleasant experience, we liked the atmosphere, the food was well presented and surprisingly tasty, all together it was well worth trying, especially with the offer on Tuesday evening. Was quite packed for a week night.

The ambiance of this restaurant is very good, however the service is extremely disappointing. To start with the door staff came across very rude and unwelcoming, once inside we were constantly harassed to order as they wanted the to take the table away to make space for a dance floor. The food arrived late and the head waiter was extremely rude and seriously lacked courtesy. I think Tamarai is in danger of becoming a tourist trap that does not care about repeat business. Also do not seem to grasp that a service charge should only be paid if the service was good! Would not recommend Tamarai to anyone.

DISGRACE! We went to Tamarai for my girlfriends birthday. -We were continuously harassed for our order by the waiting manager (even though no waiter would actually take our order!)-Main courses were put on top of our starters-We were provided cutlery after numerous requests -The main for one friend came out 45 minutes after everyone else We politely asked not to pay for the services charge. The response? Security were called and marched us out of the club!! 5 of the 7 in our party were girls and at no point were we rude. I cannot believe in this day and age that we would be embarrassed like that and my girlfriends birthday was ruined! DO NOT GO TO THIS place unless you like being treated like a criminal for politely asking a question. A course in customer service is strongly advised.

Poor service, staff were rude. Me and my friends wanted to go outside and have a smoke but on our return back into the club the bouncer very rudely stood infront of us and told us we cannot go inside because we dont have stamps to prove we have already paid, we were all astonished as he was the same guy who let us in at the start of the night, and we said yes we did pay he very rudely and agressively responded by saying "you are lieing to me so now u better get out my face, u aint coming in" if thats good service then you need start handing your staff some manuals and fast!!!! we were asked to pay again but luckily one of the staff reconised us, yet still we didnt get an apology from the extremely rude man. want a good night out without trouble and hassle? AVOID THIS CLUB!!!!!
