The Abingdon is an excellent venue - it would work for a date, a family meal or a work lunch. I've been a few times and have always really enjoyed the food, the service and the friendly, breezy vibe.
BUT . . . the prices are just too high for the quality of the food. It feels like someone has come in and is focussing more on margins and less on quality. it needs to improve the quality (for £18 mains) or reduce the price.

A bit pricey for me usually (up to 18 pounds for a main course!) but we visited Abingdon for Sunday lunch, when you can get three courses for around the same price. Understandably it was pretty busy, but service was speedy and they didn’t skimp on the portions. Abingdon’s also do a cheaper, two-course lunch deal which is worth looking out for.

The Abingdon is a friendly and well presented bar/restaurant. It has an adventurous menu and expansive wine list that is reasonably priced. A separate bar area with comfortable seating and pleasant atmosphere makes The Abingdon an altogether enjoyable experience. I'd definitely recommend it.
