Very nice and fine-located pub in central London. It's not overcrowded at evenings like most of London pubs. A great bonus for smokers and all that likes to drink it's stout outside is inner garden with comfortable tables instead of usual barrels.
By the way, I've mentioned stout not accidentally - the Samuel Smith's pubs are one of the accessible places, where you can get a nice stout in London(of course when I say stout - I don't mean Guinness ;) )
So my rating for this pub is 5 of 5. A great place to meet after hard study or working day.
For a month some years ago we were in London from Canada and lived around the corner on New Compton St., so this was our "local," and a great one it was. Friendly, good service, made us feel part of the family, and lively to visit any hour. Their specialty was then VERY HOT chili, which after the first try we avoided, altho told it was best in London! But other eats were fine. I'd go again if back in town.
this is a great pub with a die for atmosphere. The crowd it gets are friendly and approachable. The food is great sausage and mash, steak and ale pie, fisherman's pie. Its cheap too so you are looking to spend well under £20 necking down four pints.
My favourite pub in the area. It can get busy but if you wait for a few minutes then you will usually get a table. A great hideaway with incredibly good value drinks.
The Angel is one of my favourite pubs in London. It has a great location, great atmosphere, is very warm and cosy. The Angel staff are always really friendly, and they have a great selection of excellent beers, and the prices are really really good.
My Great Great Uncle ran The Angel from 1868-1869 and died there in November 1869. I have never been to The Angel, but hope to visit this year!
The Angel is a busy pub around Tottenham Court Road. I went in there with a few mates and had a good night out. Typical pub grub and a selection of beers were fulfilling but due to the busy bar, ordering was not the quickest process. However, there were satisfying portions at reasonable prices. The Angel also has a dartboard in the bar, if you can manage to get a turn!
