I was a regular customer last year, just got back to the UK from a long film contract and thought I would have a meal then on to the Baby Bath House for a few drinks. It must now be the most expensive place to drink in Stoke Newington £8.50 for a cocktail O’ My God last year some of the cocktails were just over £4 what a price increases. No wonder the place is dead compared to The Lion opposite.
I give it another six months and it will be closed.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for your feed back

we have now extended our happy hour from 6-10pm
2 cocktails for £10
2 beers for £5

we do take on board all feed back but are unsure of how you came to the price of £4 as our average cocktail price, yes we have special deals occasionally which are always sent out on our weekly mailing list to our regular customers but i think you'd be hard pressed to find £4 cocktails anywhere in a london independently owned venue (let us know if you do as we'd love to visit for some cheap drinks!)

kind regards
the baby bathhouse

First of all....the advertised 2 cocktails for £10 deal does not exist. The prices are sky high, where as if you hop on across the road its much cheaper and a nicer atmosphere. Secondly, the staff are so very rude. If you are gay...this is DEFINITELY not the place for you. We had some very harsh comments from the staff such as "don't get your GAYYYY boyfriend to scrounge you drinks by pulling all the fixtures down" Thirdly, the photo frames may fall on your heads.Fourthly, Only one toilet...unisex....the door says "slide me"....I didn't realise sliding meant picking the whole door up and leaning it against where it should be.Fithly. If you are feeling suicidal and need cheering up. Perhaps don't come here. The music is very much dire...Melancholy... you get the idea.Sixthly. Watch out for the wires trailing across under the tables!

Hi xjenjx,

Thanks for your feedback.

We've looked into this via CCTV and manager's reports.

The happy hour goes on until 8pm, which you had a round of 'Von Der Tan's'. You then ordered a gin martini and a poison apple cocktail. The manager actually charged you 'buy one get on free', on the order.

We do apologise for the frame - this has now been all fixed. The complementary cocktail we provided for the frame falling, we hoped would make up for the inconvenience on the night.

Regarding the inappropriate comment said by the bar staff, we do not agree with anyone being spoken to like this. We are now aware of the staff member who served you and the matter has been dealt with – this staff member no longer works for us.

Please note, we are a gay friendly bar, from management staff, to club nights and music events. Strangely enough, both people who dealt with you on the night are gay themselves, so we believe it is down to attitude and customer service, not sexual preference.

Again, thanks for the feedback. We strive to improve from our customer feedback.

what a nice smart little cocktail bar in stoke newington, just what we needed, i do like the pubs but sometimes my friends and i want something a bit different, and with the basement which has club nights too.. it means as i live down the road I no longer have to go to shoreditch or dalston which is nice. Its a good place inside for quiet mid week dates too. This is my new local and will deffo be back soon.

We were shocked and very upset to read about your unpleasant experience with the staff from The Baby Bathhouse. We have taken this very seriously and have reviewed our staff members and management. Please feel free to contact The Baby Bathhouse as we would like to offer a round complimentary drinks to make up for your unacceptable experience.

Thank You
The Baby Bathhouse

I ending up popping in here over the weekend, as I had seen an article on Now. Here. This. I was so pleased I did! The garden is lovely and had lots of games set up for the hot weekend, and a padddling pool. It was fun! Who I think was the manager, kept coming outside and offering fruit punch drinks (not sure who the staff was in one of the previous comments, but my experience could not have been more opposite!) and being really friendly. He told us that they've recently launched their new autumn cocktail list, I had the 'Blackberry and Ginger Mojito' and a 'Blossom of....something!! can't remember the name, but it was de-lish!Recommended highly.

Really lovely venue...until you meet the bar staff! we went outside for a cigarette, leaving our drinks on our seats. In the meantime these we're cleared away (nearly full!). When I went to the bar to ask why they had taken away our drinks, all I got was 'how is that my problem' (literally!) and 'how do you know it wasn't your friends that took it away'. when I answered that all of them had been outside with me he just repeated that its not his problem and he couldn't care less. I had no intention of asking for anything but just wanted to get a rectification, all I got was attitude and it left us all in such a bad mood we left.

went to Baby Bathhouse a week ago- place looks good and will be a hit when the courtyard opens. we were in early so the place was quiet but unfortunately I was served what had to be the worst Martini I have ever had...it really was bad- I asked the bartender to taste the drink and he made a comment that it was the olives that made it taste like that?. it wasnt the olives- the bartender doesnt know how to make Martinis. I drink martinis always when out (prob too often!) and and a good martini it is a clear sign of a good bartender. so owners- get a better bartender as the place is really nice and deserves better...

“Wow” Very classy.
Its about time Stock Newington had a civilised bar. Drinks start at under £3 so very reasonable. Loved the DJ great sounds.

The bouncer was quite selective on customers later in the evening so don’t expect to get in if you have been binge drinking.

The down stairs part is not open yet but I cant wait to see what they have done. Very good atmosphere through out the evening, an extremely a good night out.

I was one of the few fortunate people to be invited to the official opening night. I was greeted by a smile by the door supervisor and given a programme for the evenings events by one of the hosts. It’s amassing how much has changed from the décor to the layout since the last owners had it.

I think the drink pricing is spot on for the clientele they will bring in. A wide variety of music was played throughout the evening. It was a shame the garden hadn’t been completed but I am told another 4 weeks.

They put on several shows on throughout the evening which were truly spectacular. Over all my colleges and I are very impressed with all the small details as well as the hospitality for each staff member.

This will be a very successful, we wish them all the best.

Wow amazing! I have been looking for a decent bar in london for a while with great atmosphere and also great music that covers every taste and I think I found it in the Baby Bathhouse. Stoke Newington does have a good selection of Bars and Coffee shops, I should know I have been in them a fair few times but the Baby Bathhouse seems to blow them all out the water. The decor was amazing and really friendly staff as well. The night I visited there were people up dancing randomly with people they never met before a great party atmosphere. Not only does the bar look rather stylish and really vintage, also the people in the bar are a real nice cross section of society! Drinks are a a good price nothing too dirt cheep to encourage the undesirables and not too expensive to price the average londoner out of the bar! I look forward to seeing the Garden and basement open!

Loved it! Some girlfriends and I visited the Baby Bathhouse last Friday night and we were so impressed.

The atmosphere was fantastic, the decor is divine (we particularly loved the miniature Victorian baths!) and the cocktails were delicious. Friendly bar staff and great music. We will definitely be returning.
