We went for a stroll on Northcote Road one Friday afternoon in early October and ended up drinking wine on The Bank’s veranda. It was a bit chilly but they provided us with blankets and had patio heaters, so we stayed outside doing some people watching on Northcote Road. Wine turned into cocktails which were a feast for both eye and pallet, we had the frozen strawberry daiquiri and the mojitos! We stayed on the veranda, chatting away and as it turned out, they had a live musician on that night! He was great, people were singing along and some of the customers got up on stage and sang with him. We ended up staying there till late, had one of the best nights in a long time!

We visited on a Saturday evening with our friends and had an amazing time, the DJ was playing the best tunes and the guys there were really fun. There was a great atmosphere and I'll definitely go back. They are having BBQs on the weekend and I could really grab a nice steak and wine on the sun!

Went here for lunch yesterday, I had the steak and mushroom ciabatta, mum had the mushroom omelette - first time round they brought out the wrong omelette but they noticed straight away and replaced it very quickly.

Steak was nice but slightly fatty. Not much more to say - the French girl who served us was very friendly, made sure we were warm enough and turned heat lamps on etc (we were sitting outside!).

Would return for light lunch but to be honest it was nothing amazingly special, not bad though.

Housed in a former bank building, the banks biggest plus is the space it can provide. It is nicely decorated and far from stuffed. Left of the entrance is a big bar which is surely crowded at evenings. I am not able to tell, because I went their for breakfast in the pre-christmas season where it was always empty. Me, my girlfriend and about 6 mothers with kids and their prams...

The food itself was ok, but if you expect a real english breakfast it was a bit too "stylish", so all the parts were there, but just lacking the "realness". Perhaps it is just not the thing to eat there as others where having mussels and other more lunch like stuff.

The service was very nice and friendly and overall an enjoyable experience, even when I am more tempted to visit The Bank in the evening for a beer.
