Bit pub, bit club...The Bear really worked for my 30th last Saturday. Jimmy the manager was charming and really helped my my party a memorable party. Thanks Jimmy.. We'll be back xxxx

I really like the food at The Bear. I wasn't expecting such good quality as the place looks rather pubby. But the steaks sandwiches and the Thai food were dead good and me and my girlfriends really enjoyed them. Next time we come down to London we will go back to The Bear for definite.

I had my 30th birthday downstairs at The Bear last Friday. The staff we really accomodating: I could bring my own DJ and I managed to have an area for all my friends. Other people were allowed in too, but this only made the party rock more than I ever could have done alone.


Well done The Bear. Turning 30 was not so bad after all.

As the owner of The Bear we take any complaints received very seriously. Not at anytime has the person who left the bad comments regarding their party tried to contact me.


I have spoken to the managers who were working that evening, who informed me that the lady organising the party had promised 150 people. 30 people actually turned up and none of them spent money. I have seen the till reading to back this up.

We hired The Bear for a launch of our club night. Major mistake. At 12:30am the manager tried to shut the bar, turned the music off, and the lights on - it should have gone on till 2am. Apparently we were short of the minimum spend so we had to go. She never mentioned this beforehand, just that if the minimum spend wasn't reached we wouldn't get our deposit back.


I could not believe they had only sold 40 drinks all night as we had 70-80 people in, and when we asked to see the till receipts she ignored us. This is a joke and just plain unprofessional. If you don't want your night ruined, don't book The Bear, go elsewhere.

The Bear has the cutest Westie dog. It is worth a visit just for the cuddles.

I stopped off at The Bear for a quick drink before going clubbing in Farringdon and ended up staying until the small hours of the morning. The Bear has great music, and gorgeous looking bar staff.

I wandered into the bear last night and there was a full on Halloween party going on for the locals. It was amazing for a Tuesday night as the pub decorated, all the staff dressed up, there were free sweets and horror films on the screen.


I'm glad to see one pub in Clerkenwell made the effort. Well done The Bear.
