They serve good pub food but they certainly do not serve good hospitality. Although the hipster lounge set up initially makes you feel welcome the bar staff make you feel uncomfortable as if they're doing you a favour by just being there. Even at their quietest hours you are made to feel alienated and approaching the bar would just ruin the set up of the quirky pub. I would recommend a one time visit only for the 'atmosphere' On a weekend as with friends when it is crowded can be just like any jolly pub. But avoid the silent and lonely week days.

If you can get one of the amazing leather sofas then I urge you to stay in the Bishop for a Sunday afternoon session. A friend and I did so the other week and it was such a nice experience - lots of laziness and lazy converstations. Perfect for a Sunday afternoon! Many thanks to all at the Bishop.

The Bishop is a splendid little pub in Dulwich - my wife and I nipped in for a quick drink and the food looked so good we felt it would be remiss of us not to order some.


Upon our first mouthful we knew we had made a good decision - the food was excellent and service prompt, helpful and friendly. In fact, The Bishop impressed us in nearly every category we could think of. I have a feeling they'll be seeing a lot more of us at The Bishop.
