We hired the whole pub to throw our mate a 40th birthday party....it was fabulous and the venue is the perfect size for a private party, with a little outside terrace too. The staff were very friendly and helpful and did everything they could to make organising the party easy - getting back to us quickly and adapting menus to suit our budget. We had our own music and decorated the place too....couldn't have been better. We searched all over London for the right place to hold this party...we found it! Thanks guys.

We had a fabulous Hen party meal at the Black dog in Vauxhall. The venue had a lovely relaxed atmosphere and all of the staff were really friendly especially the manager who helped organise a menu for us. I have to say that the best thing about it though was the food........ A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! It was all cooked in an open kitchen so you can see all the food being prepared and the food they produced was great; a bit special, really tasty and brilliant value. Would definitely recommend this venue for any occasion as suits a quiet dinner for two or a group celebration.

We booked the Black dog for a private party (about 35 people) on a weekend evening.

The evening went very smoothly and all the staff were incredibly helpful, competent, and friendly. We also ordered some canapes (steak + chips, parsnip soup and little sausages and mash) and they were fantastic.

Enjoyed the evening and heartily recommend. We will be returning to sample the food on another occasion!

I had a mouth watering roasted lamb shank with mustard mash, spinach and rosemary jus tonight. What a find! The Black Dog serves high end restaurant food in a pub atmosphere for very decent prices. If all pubs served food like this the restaurants would be empty. The Black Dog is truly a hidden jewel.

Fantastic pub: great atmosphere, delicious food and very friendly staff made for a very enjoyable evening. I don't usually go out in Vauxhall but i would certainly make the journey to go to the black dog. One of my new favourite pubs
