The Black Horse is a friendly pub just moments away from the underground with a slightly Dickensian feel to it.

The Venue
Just off Oxford Street and very close to Tottenham Court Road station, this is a quaint little pub with a friendly manager. There are pool tables and a couple of big screens for sporting events. The ground floor gets quite busy as it is on the small side and fairly narrow, but the upstairs is much larger and more spacious. The decor is slightly dated but it is the kitsch pub image that the Black Horse wants to promote.

The Atmosphere
The Black Horse is frequented by those from all walks of life. There’s a nice buzz as you walk through the door as you are met by a fairly young clientele consisting of media types finishing work, shoppers looking for refreshment after a long day shopping or groups of friends starting their night out. It is lively from the moment you enter and very down to earth, which is nice and relaxing, and especially unique considering the location.

The Drink
The drinks are reasonably priced so a night here won’t break the bank and they have a Happy Hour that runs in the early evening, with drinks promotions throughout the night selected by spinning the wheel with attached horse. You can expect your normal run of the mill drinks including beers, wines and spirits with a cocktail thrown in for good measure.

The Last Word
A well priced, friendly pub with a bit of character in a convenient location. The Black Horse is a cozy place to go for a drink and a chat. A great meeting point for any night out though you may end up being seduced into staying longer than you first intended.
