I think the locals call this place Stinkys and it certainly is! Full of old grannies usually but can get very good on fridays when a younger crowd is in after work and even better on a gig night when its crowded.
Dont ask for the wine list there isnt one but you can get a lovely guiness, also you cant understand a word one of the barman says so just nod and smile!

A ghastly place, looks like an old grannys living room with their yellowing net curtains, plastic flowers and flocked wallpaper.

But then, the day I walked in the staff refused to serve me without id, I was 24 years old so it was never going to get a good review!

Every time I've been to the Canterbury Arms I've had a great time. I've never had any problems with the beer or any of the drinks! The staff know how to have a good laugh and there's never any trouble - it's a traditional pub that knows good fun. Don't listen to all those stupid reviews saying the Canterbury Arms is crap, because it's good!

If you like poorly kept beer and lagers, uncomfortable seating, a lack of disabled facilities, rude and arrogant management and staff then the Canerbury Arms is the pub for you.

The Canterbury Arms is a good time pub. The crowds are more lively on a Fri, Sat night. They have good music on those nights. I don't really like the Canterbury Arms that much as the crowd is too loud for my liking.
