What a great place The Churchill Arms is. If you're in this part of London you have to pop in, and if you're hungry then even better. The Churchill Arms serves the best Thai food this side of the Mekong.

The restaurant is only a conservatory but is usually more packed than the other more expensive restaurants in the area. This is one of London's little gems for those in the know.

The Churchill Arms has bags and bags of character. Step in through the front door, past the hanging plants and you know you are not in a chain pub. Winston memorabilia and war time relics adorn every nook and cranny. Huddle by the fire place for warmth or to one of the many friendly, and comically well imbided, locals. The Churchill Arms has an adjoining Thai restaurant which is simply one of my most frequented eateries in London. The brief menu has enough to satify everyone's taste, the food is fresh and authentic, and the portions are generous. The Churchill Arms is always busy, a sign of a very good, and singular, public house. Highly recommended traditional English pub.

The Churchill Arms is just plain great - a good old fashioned boozer with tonnes of character. It's decorated with lots of Churchill paraphenalia and has a nice mix of people all overseen by a slightly eccentric but genuinely nice landlord. This in itself would be enough to make it a great place - but it goes one step further. It serves really good Thai food at really un-Notting Hill prices (about £6/main meal). Whether you want a place for a drink or two, or a place to stay for the whole evening, I would not hesitate to recommend this place. Downsides? It's a bit small, so you may have to wait for a seat or get there early. The service from the Thai kitchen is efficient to the point of pushy. But I'm nitpicking . Go out of your way to visit The Churchill Arms and you won't regret it.

The Churchill Arms is in a great area, it's an old fashioned pub with an amazing Thai restaurant attached to it. Highly recommended if you want to have a relaxing evening with good Thai food.
