Tucked away in the side streets of Notting Hill, The Cobden club provides a sophisticated and cool attitude to dinner and dance.

The Venue
When you arrive at The Cobden Club the decorations and wallpaper, even the stairways complete with spindles and handrail, remind you of a converted hotel. Too big to be a house and too small to be a hotel, The Cobden Club is the perfect size to wine and dine in the quality surroundings. Set across three floors, the first room you pass is the chill out room - a large open-plan room with seductive lighting, leather sofas and flat screen televisions. This is a great room to relax in, and is populated with cool West London party people, happily chatting about their lives and stories. Beautiful art is proudly displayed on the walls and the seductive atmosphere will easily send you dreaming into you partners eyes.

The next room you pass as you journey through the beautifully decorated hallways is the Lounge room. Decorated with light colours on the walls and ceiling, the Lounge bar creates an atmosphere of style without trying to hard. A large pull-down projector provides a feed to the live bands playing upstairs, and the comfy leather sofas are a great place to chill if the amazing bar doesn’t draw your interest.

The next stop, continuing up the stairs, is the Grand Hall - a delightful room with high ceilings, beautiful engravings and a thirty foot bar. As you enter, you understand that this is the icing on the cake: to the right is a large stage where many of the headlining bands - past and present - have graced, and to the left is a stylish bar complete with every drink you can imagine ready to be made into a delicious cocktail or mixer. As you look up, the high ceiling and wonderful decorations make you take a breath as you marvel in awe.

The Atmosphere
A favourite for many A-list celebrities, expect The Cobden Club to be somewhat selective on its membership offers. Originally opened in 1996 with 800 founder members, the cool club has now over 2000 members and is still going strong. Expect to find London party people mixed with celebrities and a great atmosphere. The door staff are surprisingly helpful and don’t hold the usual grudge against anyone they happen to lay their eyes on. The bar staff are great, and will prepare any cocktail from the menu with style. The managers are also very helpful and will do anything to make your night enjoyable.

The Food
With a menu changing through the summer and winter seasons, the food at The Cobden Club is just as perfect as everything else. Starters consist of beef carpaccio with lime oil dressing or duck breast salad with cherry balsamic dressing, and start at £4.50. For a main course you can choose dishes such as fillet steak with bearnaise sauce and fondant potato or oven roasted duck breast with green bean salad. All main courses are delicious and start at around £12.00. From the desserts menu you can take your pick from New York cheesecake or homemade ice cream. Private dining rooms are available to hire for members and non members, perfect for a wedding reception or special occasion.

The Drinks
Expect only the best classic cocktails, fine wine and premium alcohol. Start by telling the bartender whether you would like your martini dry, sweet, dirty or perfect. The chosen drink will be presented in a gleaming frozen glass mixed to perfection by the great bartenders. If cocktails are not the flavour of the night, you can try from the wide range of drinks on selection from the wine list. Enjoy white, red and rose wine. Try a bottle of Gavi, La Chiara from Italy which has a juicy, honey-like core.

The Last Word
A great members club in trendy Notting Hill, experience a superb atmosphere for dinner and dance.
