Only in London for two days, we decided to give the highly priced musicals a miss and try The Comedy Store! After being disappointed, but very glad we hadn't paid, to see a comedian we saw on Tues night, we were unsure about what to expect on wed 20/1/2010, with Josie Lawrence and gang doing improvisations. We were not disappointed, we loved it, and I laughed from beginning to the end, and was even impressed with the way they handled the 'heckler' who obviously hadn't progressed onto books with words, and kept insisting 'wheres wally' was used in their sketch! A brilliant night and well worth the ticket price, thank you!

I went there on Thursday 12th February 2009 with my wife, my daughters and their boyfriends. I was a bit surprised by the price of the tickets as I'd been used to paying much less for group tickets at Jongleurs in Bow. However, bottom line, the comedy was brilliant!! 5 comedians who just got funnier and funnier. The host ( ageridie bald fella aged 52 - he told us) was excellent as well. Less sociable than Jongleurs due to the theatre seating, and with food having to be eaten on your lap, I would regardless have no problem recommeding this place....you'll have a great time.

The Comedy Store holds the title for many as the Holy Grail of Stand-Up comedy. Running both late afternoon and midnight shows on weekends, you get great value for you money, with 5 spots for comedians (from all over the world) and a brialliant MC.Never mind with the food, its plain and too hot to be eaten in the break. Tickets are usually 15 pounds, but you get a 5 pound student discount if you ask for it.Arrive early if you want a good seat near the front, but be prepared to be heckled and made fun of by the comedians. As a final thing to note is that the midnight shows usually go on a little bit longer than they schedule them to do, so make sure you have other arrangements than the tube or bus to get home.

Definitely a must for comedy in central London, located as it is near Leicester Square. I have always had a great time here.

It's a slightly different night out to Jongleurs, where you usually get a table, making eating food easier. Here there are just seats set in rows, but that's fine if you're just drinking or don't mind balancing something on your knee.

The spiritual home of stand-up comedy (in England anyway), this is a must for anyone who wants a night of comedy delivered by people who are actually paid to be comedians.
