The Constitution has got very good ales, friendly staff and a good beer garden. The only thing is the locals are not that nice. We thought the Constitution punters can smell outsiders and don't like them discovering their place.

I first found this place in 2007 and love it! It's a great pub in the traditional sense of the word. There is always a good selection of well kept ales, no nonsense and affordable bar meals and friendly staff, all too happy to have a banter.
The Constitution is privately owned and run and has not fallen victim to the makeover that has made so many London pubs bland and soulless.
What I really like about this place is that you have a choice of sitting and enjoying a quiet drink, or you can easily strike up a conversation with one of the many regulars. The latter is sadly missing from many of the other local pubs.
If you are visiting London and want to rub shoulders with a friendly bunch then this is well worth a try.
