Went here after the theatre on Friday night. Much quieter than we expected - we have been here for pre theatre dinner and it can be very busy. Food is good, and no one raises n eyebrow if you want to share a dish beween two, they just bring two plates! Wine list is good, and starts at modest prices for London, under £4.00 a glass or £15.00 a bottle, but you can spend a lot more if you want to! Staff are friendly and attentive, but not hovering over you the whole time. We have recommended the Crusting Pipe to others and they have enjoyed visiting as well.

Went to The Crusting Pipe a few days ago and we had a lovely time!

It was the first time I'd ever come across it even though I'm always in the area - just never in the actual market as I find it a bit touristy.

Very glad I have finally discovered it though. We sat out in the Courtyard enjoying some very nice wine and Mediterranean style platters.

There were some amazing live performances of Opera and Classical music by buskers. It did get really busy, but service was quick and very polite (which makes a change in London!)

They do have a restaurant as well by the looks of things which i will try next time.

Apparently it's the old fruit and veg market so inside is all little nooks and crannies which I bet is amazing in the Winter! Top marks for the toilets!!

Minus point is no beer but they did say they would be getting it soon (??)

Maybe we were unlucky? Wanted a glass of wine and a spritzer (only one offered on drinks menu).

After pouring wine for the spritzer, barman said they had run out of soda. Ok, so I asked to substitute tonic water instead. After producing a bottle of Sprite and then a bottle of Hildon water, it was revealed they had no tonic! (do not stock??). We settled for a glass of Chilean Sauvignon and a glass of Rose. Both were not at all nice (the rose perhaps been in an opened bottle for some time?). Had made one visit previously which was ok, so hope this latest not an indication lowered standards... ! This venue is fantastic. We were able to sit out in the courtyard with a lovely pinot grigio and enjoy some splendid music. We ordered some traditional pub grub which tasted okay but went down so much easier due to the lovely setting.

Some people may be put off by the Covent Garden location but if you can put up with the tourists The Crusting Pipe is a wonderful place to relax after work.
