i think the comment superwillie posted was harsh and very offensive. the manager and all the staff in this pub have been very nice and still nice to everyone specialy the locals. they please everybody with their friendly manners and they always welcome you with a smile. thumbs up to the dean swift =)
I am not sure where "superwillie" is coming from here. I am a regular in this place, and good friends with all the staff who all have a great working relationship. The manager has been conducting various trial shifts here recently where a dictatorial approach is often required to the lesser experienced in retail - this may have been where comment has arisen from however his approach with his staff has been grossly misinterpreted.
i think the pub is good but i think they have a manager from hell. very friendly to the customer but not with the staff. asking staff to do everything when he just sit and chat.
What a place. great staff and great food! The atmosphere is spot on, offering a warm, laid back welcoming ambience. Has some great perks - open until 1am some evenings and you are able to sample beautiful lagers from across the globe such as - Veltins. This is far better than your commercial brands, notably - Becks Vier.
a local beer house sums this place to a tee. great collection of beers, great chilled out atmosphere, great staff (ask for the 'Chest' - a true hero!), and excellent food. This place is hidden from the tourist trap of tower bridge and shad thames so an excellent haunt to read of the sunday times over a large golden one. Be sure to ask for a Becks Vier and end up with a Veltins!!
What a cool place. An amazing range of quality beers, great food and friendly staff.
This is a real hidden gem tucked away on the corner of Lafone and Gainsford Street. They call themselves a "local beer house" a great contemporary pub with great atmosphere.
Already planning a Sunday lunch in the not too distant future.
Really worth a visit!
I got extremely drunk at Dean Smith pub last week. It was a mates birthday so we went hard. Spent the night chatting up a hot blonde on a hens night. Unfortunately didn't get anywhere. Will have to go back to Dean Smith this week.
