Well, I thought the Distillers was a great little pub - good food, good drinks and friendly service. I couldn't actually fault the Distillers on anything to be honest! It's still not getting five out of five from me though as I can't guarantee it's not perfect!

I'm not a great fan of gastro-pubs but The Distillers changed my perceptions somewhat. There were no pompous pretensions, it was just a pub that did good quality food with a modern edge. If you want to avoid city workers pretending they're fine food critics then nip down to The Distillers - I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed.

The Distillers Arms is nice enough. Had a bit of a sun outside drinking a cold beer. The food is rubbish though. I'm sure the staff at Distillers Arms just gets stuff out of the freezer and nukes it.

I totally agree. The pub itself is lovely and tastefully decorated, but the food is simply awful.
I've eaten there on four or five occasions as it is quite close to where I work. The last three occasions I've had the bangers and mash; the last time being yesterday. The mash was gloopy and stodgy and must have been previously frozen, if it wasn't instant mash! What they had advertised as 'red wine gravy' was nothing more than a coloured water, definitely no taste or a hint or red wine. The gloopy mash was swimming in this 'water' and at the end of the plate there was the perfunctory 'salad leaves'. By the time the food reached me they were soggy and limp from downing in the so called gravy. Has this chef never heard of vegetables?
And as for the sausages, very mediocre. All in all, at £9.50... a very expensive and unpleasant lunchm with no redeeming qualities except the decor, oh the manager is always quite friendly.
I'll not be returning for the food, nor will I advise anyone else to. - Report
