I had been to electric before and found it OK and above average but last friday was different, friend and I decided to stop at electric for a drink. On arrival found the restaurant full as we made our way to the bar, there was only two other people at the bar at the time, but it did take us a good 12-15 minutes to get served as the bar man was busy with drinks for the restaurant. After getting my drink I went outside to have cigarette when I was approached by a man wearing a normal grey suit telling me "no drink here". I asked who he was and what was his affiliation with electric, I don't think he understood me very well and carried on saying "no drink here" he than said " I'm security and can stop you going back inside". As he started getting rather confrontational I quickly disposed of my cigarette and went inside. This man had nothing about him that said he was security and was working for electric and started getting very confrontational very quickly with a woman who is rather easy going. No plus points for electric this time around.

Great place! One of my favourite spot for brunch.
We normally book for 3.30 but the first that arrived always have to wait - confortably seating at the bar - for the rest of the crowd at least half an hour...(my friends are always a bit late)
The staff never complained for that. They simply tell us to enjoy the drinks at the bar, they offer me a newspaper when I'm alone and tell me to let them know when we are ready to move to the table.
The waiters are always nice and polite even when very busy, and when I needed to charge my phone the guys at the bar were always ready to help.. (In some other places they look at you as you were asking for something unbearable..)
My favourite choice for brunch are Eggs Benedict (fantastic) and the Crumpets with Nutella (delicious) once you'll have those two you won't have much space for more food.. ;-)
Bloody Mary (very spicy and absolutely perfect) are great if you have to recover from a night of binge.. otherwise I usually share a bottle of Prosecco (cheaper than the glass if you plan to drink more than one) and it's top quality!! You can trust me about it.. I'm Italian, I know what I'm talking about!

I would advise parents to avoid this restaurant. The waitress could not have been more difficult about where the buggy could go and then where the high chair could be placed. I was made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome and unimpressed.

I am a bit gobsmacked by this review. If I had to say one thing about the electric, it would be how lovely the staff are, especially with children. It is not a 'children's' restaurant, and you need to pick your times, but I go there regularly for midweek coffee with the kids, and even with a double buggy (!) they have never been anything than utterly delightful. Weekend breakfast great, although probably early rather than later better with kids, to avoid the crowds of hungover notting hillites (oh for those days!). We have been for dinner with v small sleeping children in buggies and even then they have been exceptionally friendly about it. The food is pretty good but to be honest, the reason I keep returning is the staff.

We were very disappointed by our 8GBP fish soup which was served in a massive bowl that only just covered the spoon. When we asked for more the floor manager came over and told us that it was exactly 250ml of soup, and that I could have it in a smaller bowl if I wanted it. The manager then placed a girl with a bony tail so close to our table so that her hair dipped into our food and I had to rescue her from ruining her dress and my jacket. Anyways, the manager did nothing to ameliorate the situation and I would never return to this place.

I dined here early on a Sunday evening. It was a mixed experience.

We arrived at 5.15pm to be told that the kitchen was closed until 6pm - although people were eating. We were given menus by a waitress / hostess anyway, but then a very surly waiter came to our table and said we couldn't order food until 6pm and took the menus away, even though the wine list was on the back. He then returned with the menus after a more senior looking waitress told him to take them back. He clearly had an attitude problem and did not get any concept of customer service, as he then removed the cutlery and glasses from the table even though he knew we would be ordering food shortly, saying "it looks better that way".

Thankfully he went off duty shortly after that and we were served by two very friendly waiters. The food was good quality and portions were generous, so that made up for the earlier lack of service. But, I would say, get rid of rude waiting staff with attitude - if they don't like waiting tables, get another job!

I came to The Electric Brasserie on Boxing day with my family to enjoy a post Xmas reunion. Unfortunately it ended up ruining the whole day. We were told we had the last table only to find the lower restaurant empty aside from one other table. The starters which were tiny and tasteless and the mains were no better.

My Shepherds pie was nothing better than a school dinner and even the beans on the side were stuck together and cold. My partners steak was overcooked and tasted so bad we sent it back only to be told by the waitress that it was 'aged' meat!? Even my mother who ordered a simple prawn sandwich had complaints.

We didn't stop for desserts or coffee and I'm glad as the bill took my breath away. I had to stand and shout to get any attention and the girl who brought our bill looked suspiciously sheepish as if she was well aware of how terrible the whole thing was. In a word, The Electric Brasserie is revolting.

Electric Brasserie is an excellent bar with good service, always busy and music's good. Portions at Electric Brasserie could be larger and include some extras like bread/olives up front but overall I would recommend it.

I never write reviews, but read the last person's review having visited The Electric Brasserie for lunch today.

If anything negative had to be said, it was that the food was on the cold side, not hot like they say. The main waiter was excellent though and our waitress did look like a Bond villian with amazing dark eyes and white teeth.

I did only have a burger, and sat near the window which was great for people watching. I liked The Electric Brasserie quite a lot for a Friday lunch in Notting Hill. Nice, clean and friendly, with a small number of lone diners in there, and not intimidating in any way.

If not the best place in the city The Electric Brasserie was definitely not overtly trying too hard. Lovely waiter.
