Rooted in indie rock, The Enterprise is a fun and lively cluttered mess of a pub, attracting a variety of characters, gig-goers and locals. The music is loud, the talk is brash and the dancing is outlandish.

The Venue
Facing Chalk Farm tube station, you can’t miss the lively atmosphere radiating from The Enterprise. On entering the pub, you will notice it has a lot of cluttered character. Coloured fairy lights hang from random places and crooked paintings adorn the walls along with trophies and signposts. The large bar is centre of attention, situated as it is in the middle of the room, with limited seating space either side of it. There's a narrow staircase, which leads to the upstairs gig space, where the likes of New Young Pony Club have played. To the rear are the toilets, an open fireplace and an unkempt bookcase. There are two raised flat screens, one at either side of the bar, which show all the major football games.

The Atmosphere
On walking into the venue, you will note straight away that this is a pub where people come to have a good time. Not touristy or rough like some of the pubs in the heart of Camden, the atmosphere here is relaxed and homely, with a mix of young and old, locals and their pets. With the Roundhouse located across the way, and the venue’s own affiliation with music, it attracts a lot of indie kids and the staff themselves even look like they just got out of school. It can heave on the weekends, so if you are looking for a quiet drink, this is not the place for you.

The Music
The music is loud and often you have to shout to be heard. But this is predominantly a music pub, so it doesn’t seem out of place. The music is a mixed bag of indie and rock classics. If you are in the mood for a dance, the rear of the pub doubles up as a dance floor in the evenings.

The Drink
A large selection of beers and spirits are on offer at the standard prices. Heineken, Amstel, Strongbow and Kronenbourg are on tap and they cost about £3.50 a pint, while Sol, Red Stripe and Becks are available in bottles.

The Last Word
A no nonsense, lively pub with a definite indie rock feel, The Enterprise is particularly handy for drinks before going to The Roundhouse.
